Surround sound
Hi,
I'm looking to but either a Sony BDVE490 or LG BH7420P home cinema. I basically want to have my Sky HD box and PS3 hooked up and after looking at the Sony unit I'm not sure it's possible. It only has an HDMI out and none in with an optical connector. The LG on the other hand has two HDMI inputs. Am I right in thinking with the 2 HDMI inputs I could have the pictures and sound from both the PS3 and Sky box? If so how would I go about hooking all of this up? Cheers Matt |

Looking at the rear panel it looks like you can hook up your PS3 and Sky HD box to the LG, you will need to connect the optical from Sky as well to get 5.1 providing the LG will decode multichannel audio from an external source, this goes for the 5.1 and HD audio from the PS3 too.
The LG certainley caters for external devices but I can't confirm whether it will output multichannel audio or not, sometimes all in ones only output DPL. http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/home-...463/lg-bh7420p |

The LG model is something similar to Samsung's HT-E5530 and is worth considering.
