I think we will find out before the launch show is filmed, simply because they have to rehearse that group routine, so they might not officially announce it but I am sure there will be pictures of them going to the studio like last year with the brucie masks

I doubt they'll be an Olympian this year. Why would there be? 2012 was the Olympic year, 2013 is the year where... not much has happened.

Some people are guaranteed, the EastEnders star, the blast from the past, the token eye candy, we get those every year. I don't think 'Olympian' is a category that should be used year in year out.

I don't think we'll have an Olympian from the 2012 games this year. I reckon they'll be holding out for Jess Ennis as their big name in 2016 assuming that she competes in Rio - if not we could get her before that.

They usually rehearse the weekend before the launch and they also film the ad before the launch. IIRC thats how we found out about Lulu doing it. Someone tweeted that she and Edwina Currie were prancing down her street with a camera crew

She is an retired athlete, I really don't get what being branded an Olympian has got to do with it. Did Colin Jackson, Jade Johnson or Mark Foster appear in Olympic years?


The schedule isn't confirmed until tomorrow.

Especially as we had two Olympians last year, Dancing On Ice had two Olympians and Celebrity Big Brother had 1. Having Olympians from the London games is a bit of an old hat now.

Colin appeared the year after the Athen games, Jade appeared the year after the Beijing games. The 2004 series had Denise Lewis as the Olympic athlete and the 2008 series had Mark Forster.

In short, there was one Olympian in the year of the games and one Olympian the year after, whereas last year there were two Olympians in the year of the games, making me think they won't bother with one this year.

Good thing Rebecca won her golds in 2008 eh.

Honestly this thing about not having an ''Olympian'' is more baffling than the posters who last week were adamant that there wouldn't be 15 celebs despite numerous leaks about Anya, Kevin and appearance fees.


Kind of like saying that they will turn down Cheryl Cole because they had Kimberley last year.
She isn't even famous from 2012 anyway.
