That may be an old chestnut but it was still amusing.
It's a leek, not a chestnut. Keep up.

I think pre-season hysteria has set in

I'm thinking there might be a midnight reveal in one of the papers- but I've been thinking that for the past three weeks!

Wishfully thinking?

I'd be genuinely surprised if we got to the One Show at 7pm tomorrow (which I'll actually miss due to a rescheduling of the evening out that got cancelled on Friday) without being certain of all 15 celebs.

But any celebs we end up finding out on TOS had better not be from Hollyoaks.

Part of me thinks it'd be a novelty to find out on the One Show, but the other thinks that if the mystery celebs are Biggins, Kerry Katona, Mark Wright and Lulu back for a second go, I'd like to be forewarned and therefore thoroughly pissed by the time I watch the reveals!

The charts? THE CHARTS? Do you mean the hit parade?

(I'm sure my milkman could give Rude Boy by Rihanna a good go)

Did you know that the name Opal Fruits was chosen by a competition winner? I wonder if they consulted him on changing the name to Starburst.

Man, midnight can't come soon enough for me.

Whilst I understand why people are skittish on Hollyoaks actors, I think Ashley could be a good signing.

He's been in Hollyoaks for about 15 years, and plays quite a prominent, and popular, character. If they want to sign any Hollyoaks actor, there's only about 4 they should even consider, and Ashley is one of them.

Having somebody that's a well known face to Hollyoaks viewers both past and present could help attract some of the younger Hollyoaks fans and those slightly older that perhaps used to watch it back in the "golden era".

Whilst my current interest in Hollyoaks itself is zero (I've tried to watch it, having been hooked for a couple of years about 3 years ago), I'd be more than happy to see Ashley on Strictly. (Believe it or not, he's a huge step up from Ali Bastian and Ricky Whittle)

Then again, I know Hollyoaks is often looked down on, so it's not surprising people aren't happy at the idea of one of the actors appearing on it.

It's regularly beaten in the ratings by every episode of the Simpsons Channel 4 shows that week, all of which have been shown umpteen times before and are widely available on DVD. Even the E4 'first look' showings struggle in the multichannel chart. And I just don't think any of the characters, even the long-term ones, are anywhere close to being recognisable as any of the other soaps. I've got nothing against any of the actors from Hollyoaks, I'm sure they're very nice people, I just don't think they've got the profile for Strictly.
