Oh I know it gets beaten by pretty much everything in ratings, and always has done (and probably always will), but there are people that still watch it (admittadly, I'm no longer one of them).

I also never said anything about the actors being as recognisable as any of the other soaps I said he's a well known face to Hollyoaks viewers. If Hollyoaks is indeed a "teen soap", then maybe having an actor appear on Strictly could help attract a younger range of viewers that perhaps haven't watched Strictly before but would like to see Ashley on it.

Like Jan said, surely that's better than someone from TOWIE or the shows like that.

Plus, it's only one of 15...... it's hardly a tragedy.

Im sure that Gillian Taylforth, Jeremy Sheffield, Nikki Sanderson, Kieron Richardson, Claire Cooper, Jennifer Metcalfe, Jorgie Porter, Charlie Wernham, Danny Dyer (ok only a week of episodes but still ), Gemma Bissix, Alex Fletcher, Stephanie Davis, ATD, Nick Pickard, Will Mellor, Helen Lederer and many others are all celebrities and have a profile for it (although Gillians done SCD and Gemma, Jeremy, Kieron, Jennifer and Jorgie have done DOI, the rest haven't)

Hollyoaks has quite a good cast, and yeah they are very nice people, I've worked with various of them and they are some of the friendliest people I've ever spoke to, eat alone celebrities.

I've just checked the sun's site in case you needed my login readability and nothing new. However in the Abbey Clancy article it did say she was getting £35,000 a week for appearing. Surely that's more than her husband earns?
