Christmas songs: UK vs USA
Obviously here in the UK the majority of Christmas compilation albums are made up of the pop songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s like "Last Christmas", "Merry Christmas Everybody" "Do they know its Christmas?".
What is it like for Christmas songs in the USA though? I know they obviously lay claim to many Christmas classics from the 30s, 40s and 50s like "White Christmas", "The Christmas Song" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" but do they also have more cheesy pop Christmas songs like we do that are just as popular? The only one I can think of off the top of my head is "All I want for Christmas" by Mariah Carey |
