Is nicki flopping ?
Her new single freedom doesnt seem to be doing much, and as for the re-up, where is it ?
I downloaded all the new tracks from the re-up seperately on amazon. There was no way I was paying another 13-15 £ on an album already have for 7 new tracks.
Could this be part of the reason for the flop ?
What's wrong with just releasing an ep type thing for 7 or 8 quid. And then people who already have Roman reloaded can just buy the ep.

In a word, yes.

Apparently she blamed her management and even walmart for the poor sales of 'the re-up' but with a cover image as a screen cap from one of her videos and the title being so hard to think up, it was bound to underperform.

I loved her in 2010 when she was lesser known, now I see her for what she really is, a puppet.

It's because she's going back to mixtape hip-hop crap.

Hardly Mixtape hip-hop crap. She is going back to the music that led her to get a record deal. She had been around for years before her debut and her mix tapes were quite popular

This is her way of allowing people to remember she isn't a Pop Puppet, but a rapper

Maybe so, but Pop is what she's known for.

That doesn't mean she has to continue to make that type of music, just because certain fans want her to.

I'm not a big fan, but she's obviously not flopping. 'The Re-Up' is a re-release of an album that has already peaked, so it wasn't going to be a success anyway. The only recent successful re-release I can think of is Rihanna's 'GGGB' and that was 5 years ago! All the other re-releases are also available in the form of EP's, which is why they go on to sell well. Nicki originally wanted to release the new tracks as a free mixtape anyway, so, even though the re-release flopped, the label still got plenty of extra cash from tracks that were originally meant to be free downloads. Winning

Btw, I do think the 'Re-Up' would have sold better had she picked a better lead single. Maybe 'High School' or 'Hell Yeah'?

Leona's Spirit was re-released in 2008 and went to number 1, it is possible for a re release to do well.

Regardless of re-releases or not, I think Nicki makes less of an effort with her music than she did before. I don't know why, it just seems to me, that she quickly writes some lyrics, then the instrumentals are half-heartedly put together and woop, you have a song.

hip hop is crap? um, okay. take your closed mind somewhere else

anyway, nicki minaj's songs for herself are garbage imo. her mixtapes were good, her pop is disgusting and the songs on the re-up just aren't that great. the only thing i like from her are her features. it seems like throwing in a 16 is all she is good at right now.

but the album didn't even do that well which is why the re-release happened so quickly. the RIAA ceritified it platinum in the US, but only due to shipments. She still has not not sold 1,000,000 copies of the album. the only other place it certified was Australia and that was Gold, but again it was only due to shipments, she still hasnt actually sold the 35k there. to date she has maybe only sold about over a million world wide. i'll even be generous and say a million five. she sold more than that just in the US with her last album.

you don't like the genre as a whole so it is all of a sudden crap? that is having a closed mind. i don't like rock music. if i said it was crap, then people would call me crazy. the only things i call crap are things in the genres i like. i personally, like hip hop so i can judge what is crap within that genre. if you dont like it at all then there really isnt a point to have an opinion on a specific song or artist because either way you wont like it.

Nicki Minaj is just a annoying sell out who will be forgotten in a few years. She's not interesting at all, she is a nutter, dresses either like a **** or a slag and releases stupid pop hits aimed at teenagers who don't have the time or effort to look for better alternatives.

Shes a decent rapper but she is just about the most annoying talentless person on the planet.

Nicki isn't known for pop music at all. She got famous worldwide in 2010, when she was doing hip hop. Starships was her first pure-dance song, and that was in 2012, Nicki was well-known ages before that worldwide.

I don't think she's ever getting a hit again tbh. Pound the Alarm killed her career beyond repair.

Do you mean that she'll never get an urban hit again? Because as far as pop hits are concerned, 'VVV' is currently a hit in the US. And she can even make a comeback as an urban artist if she chooses. 'The Boys' and 'Freedom' are both weak and obviously urban radios would snub them, but tracks like 'High School' and 'Up in Flames' could be played like 'Right Thru Me', 'Moment for Life' and 'YL' were.

VVV peaked at 22 on the hot 100.

22 on the bilboard charts is no mean feat cosidering the competiton and sheer amount of releases over there getting number 100 is an achievement let alone 22

that varies from artist to artist. nicki minaj is seen as "hot right now." VVV was a calculated single seeing as she said she was going back to hip hop right before she released that song and still released it anyway. 22 isn't great for someone with as much radio play and promo as her. Domino got to number 6 and Lights was top 5. Neither Ellie Goulding or Jessie J are near as popular as Nicki is here. 22 for her is quite sad.

Top 25 is great. And it must be platinum by now too. It's a hit. And 'PTA' was a top 20 hit as well. Neither of them were smashes, but still. It's just way too bad that she always peaks the worst lead singles. First 'Stupid Hoe' and now 'The Boyz'. Awful. She should find a better way of showcasing her work, because, even though it's not particularly quality music, she's selling herself short with these trash singles tbh.
