Matt Cardle
Bearing in mind he`s just released a new album and has a new single, why didn`t he appear on X Factor as a guest this year?

Because the XF rewrites history once they've been seen to fulfil their contract with acts they no longer have any financial interest in.

For some reason Simon Cowell has banned him from ever appearing on X Factor, (I think he was the wrong winner for Mr Cowell). It seems rather petty and I have no idea why, especially as he won via the public vote, which generated extra revenue and interest for the programme.

![]() ..By Chris .Posts .By Chris | the juice – Sat, Nov 3, 2012 15:15 GMT ....Email0 Print..... X Factor 2010 winner Matt Cardle has been banned by Simon Cowell from ever performing on the show again. Matt Cardle has been snubbed by the X Factor. [Copyright Wenn] That's a bit harsh isn't it? According to The Daily Star, Simon is adamant that the former winner won't be allowed to perform on the show. A source close to Matt told the paper: "It's a real slap in the face. Regardless of what's gone on, you'd think the show would celebrate the success of its winners. "Matt would love to go back and perform but sadly won't ever get the chance. He's not sure what he's done to upset Cowell." Who knows, but if true it seems strange as the public voted for him. |

I thought his fans didn't want him back on the show anyway? If I remember correctly they were hoping he would distance himself from the show, why so eager to get him back on now?

I don't pay attention to sources or tabloids. Especially not mirror. Matt has spoken about it in an interview recently and denied it. He doesn't have anything against Simon nor does Simon have anything against him.
Matt and Will Young have similar backgrounds, both come from well grounded families with successful, businessman fathers behind them. Both have drive and determination plus the ambition to do things their own way. I do wonder how the other male winners would have faired if they had won Pop Idol rather than X Factor and Simon Fuller was in charge of their careers? No matter what many may say about Matt, nobody can say he is not working hard to make something of himself. It is early days and both him and his management company have stated they are working on a 10 year plan. Interesting times ahead and I hope it works out for him. |

It seems a generic trait with Simon Cowell and actions speak louder than words. Also Simon never deals with his problems face to face, there is always somebody to do his dirty work. That can be clarified with his treatment of both Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole amongst others. He had problems with Will Young, which he denied at the time, but fortunately Pop Idol was under Simon Fuller.

I don't post on here very often anymore but I doubt Cowell has anything in particular against Matt but XF appearance spots are reserved for Sony artists (generally Syco artists) and big international stars, neither of which Matt is. He said on TV a few weeks ago that he was disappointed that he wasn't asked back but understood that it made no business sense, for them to give him a platform, which I guess is right.
He seems happy doing his own thing though I'm sure he'd have loved the exposure |

It would have been lovely to see Matt showcasing his new music on the X Factor, it would have reminded those who have forgotten, just how talented he is. Quote:
However, he does have a solid fan base, and firm backing with regards to management.
As regards firm backing from management, that's great but who exactly are you referring to? As I understand it, he has a manager who works exclusively for him. The record label are not 'management.' They are basically casual partners. It is not in the nature of their business to commit in anything but the shortest of terms, so there will be no 'firm backing' going on there. Quote:
His career in the music industry has longevity. Wait and see.

Matt quite famously slagged off the X Factor after the show. I can't remember all the details but it was more than just 'yellow trousers'. So it's a bit rich to then bleat that you've been 'banned' from the show. You can't have it both ways.

Matt Cardle, in my opinion, is happy doing what he's doing.
I don't think everyone who goes on the X Factor does it JUST to be famous. Some are happy plugging away and performing their own music, with enough album sales to make a career. I still follow Matt and buy his music, because I appreciate talented people who have worked the pub and club circuit for years and use the X Factor as a stepping stone to do what they want to do. Obvious exceptions are the less talented participants, (Cher Lloyd springs to mind) who want to be a transatlantic household name. They are the ones who crash and burn after 3 or 4 years. In my opinion, the most talented people don't need a camera in their face 24/7, or constant Daily Fail articles about who they are dating or what nightclub they fell out of, yada yada yada. Leave that for the more desperate ones.... |

Well said. What does it matter if he likes xf or nor or if Simon likes him or not. Matt wanted a break in the music scene which is wwhat he got. He works hard and I really admire how he stays focused on what he likes. IMO he is the best male singer in all history and I'm sure he has only just begun.
