I guess you are the first Free sat fan boy I've met. Pleased to meet you.
All that would make sense if the second paragraph started "But now thanks to broadband" and not "But now thanks to free time". Merely explained how the catch up epg makes it easy to identify vod content and watch it with a single button click. As I said it's the only advantage of the freetime G2 box, The same catch up services can be accessed in loads of other ways, As far as the HDR-1000s is concerned ignoring the catch up option, it has a superior picture to the previous two satellite HD boxes (Foxsat-HD and Foxsat-HDR). It's broadly comparable to the two Freeview-HD options (HD-FOX T2 and the HDR FOX T2) picture wise, All of them as a pvr offer more than the Youview Humax DTR-T1000/DTR-T1010 (these have the CH4 and CH5 catch up services but very limited pvr capability) The Foxsat-hdr, the HD FOX T2 and the HDR FOX T2 have the capability to greatly extend the built in capability using sofware add ons written by others. Doubtfull if the two Youview boxes or the HDR-1000s will ever have this, The HDR-1000s will eventually be able to be used as a DNLA server and client (like the HDR FOX T2 is already capable of) and also can be used as a usb media streamer. Suspect based on your posts this may leave you somewhat in the dark. Do what the rest of us do look it up and learn. When I retired in 2000, DNLA would have mean't zilch, DVB-T2 hadn't been invented, If an OAP can keep up what's your excuse ? |

. I can also connect a Android tablet to my display and replay full-HD content in the same 1080p24 quality and same bitrate as on a BD disc in full 5.1 sound. from a usb drive,
A bit more info would be nice.Seems the tab 2 has conflicting options on the tv out (hdmi)cables working or not (aint got too much cash at this time)and any other options would be interesting. The tabs video player has a "wifi direct" option which scans for devices (my tv is not smart)so thinking the only way might be a connected media player.Thanks. |
