Your G.O.T.Y (Game of the Year) 2012
What has been the gaming highlight of the year for you? My one has got to be Far Cry 3. Everything from the freedom, the graphics, sound, missions, co-op, storyline, the baddies & vehicles were fantastic & such a refreshing change of from the normal FPS style of gaming

Sleeping Dogs. It wasn't anything new but the gameplay was at the right level, the story was interesting and most of all it was just fun to play.

PS+ meant I didn't really buy any games this year. In fact the only one I got was FIFA13. All the rest of my gaming this year has been based around the PS+ games.

Not a vintage year (like last year was) but for me i'd say
X-Com, just ahead of Hotline Miami. I'm not a great person to ask though because I still have to play other highly regarded games like Journey, Sleeping Dogs and Dishonoured. I am playing the latest Hitman though and really enjoying it, I think reviews were way too harsh. |

I think it's to soon to say with amount of games people might be getting at christmas but i can do a temporary top five
5. Final Fantasy XIII-2, fixed every problem i had with XIII 4. Uncharted: Golden Abyss - A great start to the Vita which has yet to be topped 3. Farcry 3 - one of the greatest open world games i've ever played, not quite just cause 2, not quite gta, not quite game of the year And for a decision which for me is incredibly hard to make as both games are so good 2. Resident Evil 6 - never have i seen a game divide the community so much you either love it or hate it, i love i love the high action moments i love the inventory, i love that the A.I works this time etc. 1. Mass Effect 3, i hadn't played mass effect before this game and i knew about the ending going it so it bothered me slightly less but none of that matter because the jounrey the game took me on was so fantastic and incredible that i went and downloaded ME2 and did it all the way 2 and 3, which made ME3 better, now with the release of the original i've doing a trilogy run through, so mass effect 3 is my game of the year because it didn't just introduce me to a new gaming world but a gaming universe Honorable mentions: Sleeping Dogs, Fifa 13, Black Ops 2, Gravity Rush, Resident Evil: Revelations, Assassin's creed III and liberation |

I'm not sure to be honest. Nothing has really grabbed me this year.

Either Borderlands 2 or Minecraft XBLA. Poured endless, highly enjoyable hours into both. Minecraft especially. It's been a long time since I had such fun with a game like I have had with Minecraft.

Toss up between Borderlands 2 or Far Cry 3, with a shout-out to Minecraft for being best time waster, in the nicest possible sense.

I have enjoyed Syndicate, The Darkness II, Journey, Max Payne 3, Uncharted: Golden Abyss (although technically a 2011 game), Gravity Rush, Prototype 2 and more recently AC3: Liberations.
Journey was a lovely experience. That would be my downloadable GOTY. Not sure what I would pick as my retail choice though. Prototype 2 was a huge improvement over the first game and I enjoyed the campaigns of the others. It has been a good year of gaming but nothing that I have played immediately stands out as doing everything better than the competition. |

As of writing this post i'd say either Max Payne 3 or Mass Effect 3 would be my GotY, but i'm getting Halo 4 and Assassins Creed 3 in a little over a weeks time, so my final ranking could change.
Best "original" game that isn't already part of an existing franchise would have to go to Dishonored though. |

"Full-sized" games:
1) Mass Effect 3 2) Max Payne 3 3) Halo 4 "XBLA"/"PSN"/"mobile" games: The Walking Dead Overall? tbh, I'd be tempted to give it to The Walking Dead... |

I totally forgot Binary Domain. I thought the demo sucked but I picked up the game for £12 brand new and was quite impressed with it.

Gravity Rush for the PS Vita has been one of the most amazing games I've ever played. It's so unique in every way possible.
Despite my hate for the endings, Mass Effect 3 is also another good contender for me. |

Borderlands 2 for me.
The amount of hours I sunk into Co-op with friends and the sheer amount of fun I had puts it right at the top. |
