What is the most disturbing song you have ever heard?
Music can often be very disturbing, what is the most disturbing song you can think of? I'm going to go with Eminem's "Stan" - very disturbing but a masterpiece at the same time

When special effects are used to enhance a piece of music rather than cover terrible vocals...

In terms of lyrical content, something like Gary Puckett and the Union Gap's "Young Girl". Oh dear.
![]() Musically, it might just be something like Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy". His videos are utterly terrifying too!

The Curse of Millhaven is typical of Nick Cave. He has plenty more to choose from.

Juliette and the licks - death of a whore
Very poppy but the lyrics paint a grim image |

Kylie & Nick Cave "Where the Wild Roses Grow" is quite dark both lyrically and musically. Beautiful though, imo.

Lots of PJ Harvey's work is downright disturbing in fact most of the songs on Rid of Me, To Bring you my Love, Is this Desire? and White Chalk.
It's the rawness, the atmosphere and complete lack of hope. But very talented and character building music. |

Golden by Tyler, The Creator makes me feel quite a lot uneasy but it's fascinatingly brilliant at the same time. Essentialy a mental breakdown on record.

Funny that, thought of this song, as soon as I saw the thread, found the video and song very disturbing/upsetting at the time. However, I wasn't in a good place when Stan was released, which contributed greatly to this, I think!

A lot of The Misfits would surely fit into this category. "Saturday Night" seems like a lovely song until you listen to the lyrics.

"I Don't Like Mondays" is the most disturbing "classic" song I can think of.

Hamburger Lady by Throbbing Gristle. Do not ever listen to this on your own in a dark room.

"Mama" by Genesis used to creep me out when I was a kid, it's the creepy laugh that does it...I think it's a great song now but it's still really weird to listen to it and think "That's Phil Collins!" Particularly if you've only heard his cheerier stuff prior to that.
The hidden Nirvana track "Endless, Nameless" is quite creepy too. |

I'm also going to add Sonia's "You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You", lyrically VERY creepy. It's like the ultimate stalker song
