Why is there something rather unfashionable about Quiche? I'm thinking mainly amongst trendy types who think Quiche is so 80s or a bit naff or faux posh. What's wrong with it exactly?

I declare an interest - I like Quiche and I'm having it tonight.

I like it...........but I suppose it's pretty unhealthy, full of fat and salt if you're buying the ready made ones

Before anyone had ever heard of quiche we used to have home made cheese and onion flan.............mmm !

Love quiche - I've streamlined my baking process to a point that I can have it made and cooked in under 30mins. Smoked salmon, sun-dried tomatoes, bacon, green chilli & herb, bbq chicken... there's so many possibilities!

I make a lovely low carb quiche - the base instead of pastry is ground almonds and butter - so it is a bit like a savoury cheesecake. Scrummy!

In answer to the question, I don't think there is anything wrong with quiche - it is served in the best of restaurants under the name of Goats Cheese Tart!

Quiche is great so many flavour combo's you can put in them, served with a fresh crunchy salad. I love it

Quiche is Niche.

Only certain people tend to like it. My parents have done hundreds of buffets in their time of running pubs and it's a total waste buying quiche because the majority of it gets untouched.

Personally I find it a bit sickley but then again I've never liked scrambled eggs either.

Mini-quiches are the answer. Make them the size of mince pies so the pastry can't get soggy and there's plenty of flavour without oceans of custard. We have either mushrooms or courgettes, thinly sliced and lightly cooked, covered with the egg and milk mixture and topped with cheese, then baked till golden.

Or just use pastry, tomatoes, pesto and cheese and cut into different shapes.

I like it when it's hot or, at least, warm. Cold quiche doesn't do much for me.

Quiche is one of those things that is either nice or terrible. There's no such thing as an average quiche, anything less than good is nasty.

I didn't know how to phrase it, but you put it well.

I love a goats cheese and onion tart, but egg tart does nothing for me.

I love a good quiche but only homemade. I think it has a bad rap as it's made so badly in the shops. Really vile but a nice homemade one, mmm lush.

I find my homemade one always seems a bit on the thin side, and rubbery.

my favourite is M&S quiche lorraine

I love quiche ! As long as I made it myself.
And come to think of it, it has been a long time since I had some.
