The classic that always seems to happen: she lies about something to Masood and he kicks up out and that's it? I will not be impressed at all if it's just that but without her being killed off I don't see what else they are going to do so quickly.

To be honest, Masoods don't get good leaving stories. One of Amira's was good (her original one); the rest were fairly blah. Shabnam's was blah, from what I've seen on youtube. Syed's turned into blah. Not looking forward to it, JoP. I really wanted to buy a new hat and celebrate Mas and Zee's wedding day instead.

Oh, and I agree: Zainab is a legend. Much more deserving of the title than Cora.

I was thinking along the lines of an urgent family related crisis (Shabnam or Syed) that has Zainab moving away for an indefinite period of time.

They pee'd on Syed for his exit storyline - taking him backwards as a character, in a storyline that served no real purpose - so it remains to be seen whether Zainab is getting the same fate. I can see the producers taking more care with Zaianb though because she's the biggest Masood of all, so hopefully, it won't just be anther 'Masood kicks her out' storyline.

I still wonder if this new family friend plays a role in events that lead to Zainab's exit or whether she's independent.

That's very true Los.Kav, I hope there is at least a 2 hander with Masood and Zainab, they never seem to have great heart to hearts, always something left unsaid. I'm sick of it I think I will be turning into, and I mean this with affection, ML when she's leaves like "Nooo! Zainab is the love of his life!!" again, I mean with affection ML, it's your thing just like mine in the Masoods chat.

That's a possibility but Zainab's exit needs to feel 'final' otherwise viewers could be left wondering whether she'll return in 6 months, not to mention Masood waiting for her to return.

Chryed's happy ending was probably final, so I can't see them being given another crisis - even one that takes place off-screen - and I'm not sure about Shabnam, wouldn't that still result in Masood waiting for her return?

Once a character is off-screen for months, they can come up with any excuse for her not returning.
I would prefer an exit that doesn't involve Zainab being punished again.

They could easily say that Zainab has decided to spend time with Shabnab because she thinks it's time she found a husband.

I'm convinced that this will spell the end of the Masoods, one by one.

Yes! They cut out the heart-to-heart Masood and Syed had in the run up to Syed's exit (still raging about that) but I hope they don't wimp out and give the Brannings more screentime by reducing Nina's during her exit.

Same. Masood will leave soon afterwards & I can see Ajay heading with him. I think the show will decide to axe Tamwar as he needs his family I'm not certain he could make it on his own - although I have been wrong, once, in the past...it could happen again.

In one of the DS episode bios, there were pictures included of Mas and Syed; It was either Syed was about to give Yasmin up to Amira, or it was just after Yasmin and Amira left, and Syed was upset. These scenes never made it into the episode.

That is annoying, I bet more Branning scenes were put in the episode because the development of Lauren throwing up once more is very important.

Very close! I think it was removed so there could be a scene with the three Branning brothers in the Vic with Alfie and Kat behind the bar. Because, y'know, that's way more important a story than two characters' leaving story. :sleep:
