Emmerdale fan that's pleased to see poor ratings for the Rachel story.
The show saw a significant rise in ratings around the time of the live show and deservedly so, and they improved even more during November. It was beating EE in the ratings as well.
But the ratings were awful for that Rachel baby carp which shows Spencer related guff simply cannot carry eppy's. Opinions on here do not matter because they are so tiny in numbers, but when hundereds of thousands go for the off switch then those in charge should take notice! |

Has anyone said it's a good storyline? I think it's been pretty much ignored on here.
I think Gemma Oaten was a really good find for the show but I just can't seem to care about Rachel. |

They can shove Cinderella Rachel at us even give her a happy ending with her prince charming. They can turn the illiterate Ali into Alan Sugars right hand man over night but they will never make me like the family. In fact the lot of them IMHO are the worst characters since the competition winners.
Hopfully the new producer will see sense and just get rid of the lot of them. |

I have never seen Gemma Oaten in anything else but she doesn't cut it with me as Rachel, so I zone out at her scenes

She was OK until she got pregnant but she's been a prize pain in the backside since then. All wronged Victorian woman taken advantage of by the simply beastly Jai Sharma!
It was also annoying that her bunk up on t'factory floor seems to have become pay day for her. But I've said all this before so am going to shut up now ![]()

I like Rachel. While I can't be bothered with ANY baby/child storylines it's still better than buried, blubbing Barbie was.
How can anyone who calls themselves an Emmerdale 'fan' be pleased to see a drop in ratings for any storyline? |

One of the worst characters in soap ever for me, can't stand her at all. Even Libby Kennedy was better.

I think its unbelievable that a pre term baby can have so many visitors at one time and also ones that are not related.
I do not know about UK Hospitals, but in Ireland (Dublin at least) it is mother and father only, grandparents 1 at a time if supervised with 1 parent. Parents pretty much anytime up to late evening, grandparents only on the evening. No other relatives or friends whatsoever. It just doesn't seem believable to me. |

I thought the whole labour scene was pretty unbelievable, she pretty much gave birth and was then trying to get up to go with her baby, no mention of her being cleaned up, delivering placenta etc, it just wasnt very realistic. |

Not sure about NICU units but even in post natal wards the only kids that are allowed to visit are those whose sibling has been born.

Maybe it is different, i doubt it is how Emmerdale are portraying it though |
