I think he is straight, but if he was gay I doubt he would come out, it was widely spoken of that Aussie Matthew Mitcham depsite winning gold could not get sponsorship as he is openly gay. Other Aussie gold winners have no problems with sponsorship , and it seems neither the media or his felllow sportsmen/women have any problem with him , its the companies who now chooe to go elsewhere with their money.
And people wonder why so few gay sports people come out, it has more to do with if they do they cannot afford to continue in their sport thanks to the corporate giants. |

Someone needs to have a quiet word with him. Nothing wrong with making a bit of money out of your "image" as such, but he's turned into a fame-whore since winning bronze.
And he's blatantly gay so the 'romance' angle is just...

I'm still yet to hear of any reliable evidence that he's gay. He dated that American girl swimmer and may be now Lauren. If he was gay, he might want to hide it because his biggest fan base is in China and who knows how it would go down there?! But I'm awaiting the evidence.
As for the media whore, if you've grown up in front of the camera then playing the fame game will seem a natural state of affairs. |

I wouldn't read too much into it - I think holding girls hands is just something he does. My son has seen Tom out and about several times over the last few months, and he's been hand in hand with different girls. One of them was around the time he was rumoured to be dating Kassidy Cook, but it wasn't her my son saw him with. Perhaps he's just one of those touchy feely types?

Tom Daley is still so young he could have another two maybe even three Olympics left in him, though I can't see him improving on the bronze he won in London if he doesn't knuckle down and stay clear of the zeleb lifestyle.
