The article is right - cheap, big TVs are better supplied by current tech at the moment.

OLED may never produce cheap, large screen TVs

Most TV's are used to watch general television and the odd DVD/Bluray, The vast majority of people have no idea what OLED TV's are and what's more couldn't care less. I guess they'll push 4 and 8K before OLED.
4K TV's are a great idea, but a bit pointless for the average TV buyer/Viewer who buys 42" TV's.
At the end of the day the manufacturers are haemorrhaging money and need to make hay while the sun shines. So, for the enthusiast, the wait goes on, for everyone else it's life as normal....Chavy films in 3D and normal TV.....

As I've been saying for years - OLED is the technology that never happened - promised for MANY years, but never materialised.

There has been some hope recently, with a few manufacturers supposedly releasing models (at huge expense admittedly).

Unless they can bring the price down then OLED TVs will remain an elite product. Interesting reading that despite all the development effort only 10% of the large scale panels manufactured pass QA and there is little prospect of improving this at the moment. When you think that manufacturers have a hard time even turning a profit on LCD TVs then what hope is there for OLED?
