For example I was worried tonight that they wouldn't show Brendan with Ste again in the episode, then they had that amazing scene at the end that reiterated that Ste would be there for Brendan. It felt like not that long ago they never would have had a scene like that in the episode, even thought it was obviously needed. I love that they're not shying away from the details anymore, right down to the seeded jam.

Yes, exactly! It's been such a frustrating watch because the story was always there for the telling, the likeness between them, the strength of feeling, why Brendan is who he is, and it just felt like they were deliberately not telling it - so wierd. But how completely brilliant that now they are. I am absolutely ecstatic about it, even though it's so so tough.

Totally agree - it's like she lets him infantilise her, because it makes her feel special. So odd in a grown woman really.
I loved Darren and Nancy tonight though, so lovely to see them as parents. You can feel the family feeling that BK does really well coming back into the show. They're gorgeous.
