I didn't watch it but it was definitely billed as a new episode. They do all tend to blend into one though so I can see why you thought you'd see it before! Very poor rating for it.

Awful for Live at the Apollo with a EE lead in. No surprise though, the types of comedians on the show are the sort that would have been on at Midnight at one time.

Seems as though CBBC may have gotten one of their best all-day shares ever.

Here are some more ratings from the day:

12:00 - 4 O'Clock Club: 243k (3.4%)
12:30 - Tracy Beaker Returns: 303k (3.7%)
13:00 - 4 O'Clock Club: 280k (3.3%)
13:30 - Tracy Beaker Returns: 328k (3.9%)
14:00 - 4 O'Clock Club: 292k (3.5%)
14:30 - Tracy Beaker Returns: 329k (3.9%)
15:00 - 4 O'Clock Club: 297k (3.3%)
15:30 - Tracy Beaker Returns: 304k (3.1%)
16:00 - 4 O'Clock Club: 366k (3.3%)
16:30 - The Dumping Ground: 576k (4.1%)

Which is good because then we get a truer picture of how many people watched it. Think that those who only "watch" the last 5 minutes of a programme should be excluded from the calculations as these people are clearly tuning in early for the next prgramme. (Pointless, I'm looking at you.) Reality TV results shows excluded as there may well be people who just want to see who's next to be eliminated without sitting through all the results show padding.

BBC1 idiots. When they have an extra episode of EE they should do what Corrie and Emmerdale down on nights when they have two episodes and skip the credits at the end of the earlier episode. It's not rocket science.

Channel4 mash up rated badly, only one thing over 1.5mill.

I believe that was Pointless' second highest ever non-celeb audience too although I'm not 100% sure of that.

Fantastic for both anyway. Also after a poor start on Wednesday Tipping Point has been creeping up each day - 1.48m (12.4% with a peak of 2.06m (15.2%) at the end.”

So in a way, The Chase managed to regain it's lead over Pointless - the highest 5pm audience for it is 3.97m (inc +1) which it achieved last month.

DMN, how many people watch Pointless and Chase actually live and how many people watch them later in the same day?

Are you talking about the number of people who record it?

The number of people who record them and watch later in the same day. I dont think over 3million would be able to watch both shows live 5-6pm, there surely must be a lot of people watching later in the day?

Well, that'll account for the officials. We can compare them to the overnights to give us an idea of how many actually record the shows. But both shows are practically on every day so I doubt people will want to record a show.

We Sky+ The Chase and start watching about 5.15pm, and spin through the ads.

I arrive home at 5.40 when Pointless is half-way through. My mum watches it live. I have the series on series record on SkyPlus so I see the second half live and watch the first half at 7 o'clock.

We watch The Chase on ITV1+1.

I think you've misunderstood the question. There are 3 key measurements:
1)Live,
2)VOSDAL, (recorded and watched the same day)
3)recorded and watched in next 6 days.

1+2=Overnights
1+2+3=Officials

Just noticed what BBC2 have put on in place of Saturday morning kids's show. A History Of Britain By Simon Schama, Meet The Ancesters and Map Man. Very much a BBC2 schedule rather than a BBC1-lite offering. Nice to have on as background. I wonder if it'll rate better than the kids' show. I would have thought it would (just).

Yes it should. Now there is something to watch other than Saturday kitchen.

I always watch Pointless live, and record The Chase, which I can then watch at about 10:30 and skip through all the ad breaks.

it wasn't QI that Danny Cohen should have sent to BBC2.

If they must continue with Apollo, they really need to find a personable, permanent host. Maybe Frank Skinner, who IMHO, is one of the sharpest comedy brains in the country and sorely wasted on the mediocre Room 101 (But, dammit, those ratings last night were quite good, so no doubt it'll be recommissioned).

According to The Star, they're thinking about putting JD in anyway:

Yes, really.

I don't care that seeing who's in the head-to-head means I know who gets knocked out in the first two rounds. I just watch to see what type of questions they have and to play along at home.

What type of numbers did comedy roadshow used to get. Will michael Mcintyre ever do any more? I know the Christmas show did well but the normal one was average wasn't it?

Anyone got any BBCFOUR ratings from last night? Interested to see how both screenings of TOTP-The Story of 1978, and Big Hits 1978 did.

I don't think it did brilliantly but I'm pretty sure it did considerably better than Apollo.

I wonder if it would do better after the big rating it got last Christmas.

Apollo is basically made for the 10.35 slot that's were it belongs.
