I'm really looking forward to seeing what the ratings are for Splash on ITV.

It was bad, but bad in a kind of mesmerizing can't take your eyes away from it way.
So it's hard to judge if its ratings will tank or will get very high ratings.
It's not really an 'average' show if you know what I mean.

Not often do I get friends phoning up asking whether I am watching a programme, but did yesterday telling me how awful "Splash" was. Would not surprise me if it doesnt have a really high rating for the first show, but whether the format translates to keeping them interested is another matter.

(10 minutes was my limit for the show)

They had a year to get doctor who ready for january february and its makes sense to place it and the voice in january when ratings are at peak both shows should be airing now. BBC really does deserve to loose the Voice ratings when they've gone for the same quarter again

It will be interesting to see if people switched off during the overly long show?

I think it may go up next week and then drop the week after.

Seems so, yeah. The breakdown was very stable across the show so people did stick with it for the whole show.

Very solid start for Splash! It averaged 5.68m (23.7%) including +1.

Britain's Brightest did OK with 4.88m but Richard Hammond flopped with only 2.75m!

Splash could still end up losing a lot of viewers next weeek even though the break down was okay. How were Splash and Britains brightest rating with the young viewers? Did Britains brighttest get more viewers as it went along?

Wow looks like ITV have got a hit on their hands I'm actually shocked by that rating, just goes to prove that anything Olympic-related is TV ratings gold at the moment no matter how bizarre.

The rating for Britain's Brightest is a little disappointing ., as I thought it was a great show. The rest of BBC1's lineup seems to have done poorly.

Take Me Out appears to have benefitted from a strong lead-in and weak opposition. That must be one of its highest ratings in quite a while.

Could the unthinkable have happened and ITV have won prime time on a Saturday night without X Factor propping up the schedule???

I'll be interested in the number of viewers who decide to return to Splash next week; I think even those in the 'so bad it's good' camp will lose interest pretty rapidly. Casualty boosted, although not up the 6.99m it got for its big Cardiff relaunch episode the same time last year.
