The BBC have said that when BBC HD converts to BBC Two HD, that HD programmes from BBC Three and Four will only (initially) be available via iPlayer.

Wonder how BARB will allocate the figures where there's no linear channel?

I'm sure you do whatever method produces the biggest number.

That's the whole point of +1s after all...

I think UKTV missed a trick with Watch +1. They could have called it Watch Again! Not as witty as Dave ja vue, but it would add spice to the +1 'double-watchers' debate.

I bet Dave Ja Vu gets more viewers because people think it's NOT just a +1 channel, than if it was called Dave +1, which many may just skip over...

Healthy peak for CBB.

FOX's Stars in Danger, which is a diving show but not based on the same format as Splash, flopped with only 1.3 demo.

ABC will be launching Celebrity Splash later this year.

It will be the 5 minute period in which the main showing added to the +1 showing is at its highest, using the same point of the programme.

Midsomer Murders is still a solid perfomer despite ITV's erratic schedule of it although having Corrie as a lead in probably helps too. Africa held up well, I imagine with repeats and iPlayer it's still doing brilliantly.

Tipping Point is doing very well. They've found the right place for it as a Chase lead-in rather than replacement.

Cheers. So does that mean Bootcamp only did 1k on the +1 showing?

How is Celebrity Big Brother holding up? Wouldn't surprise me if it was under 2 million ( without +1 ) most nights considering it's a very dull series so far. C5 haven't had a good Big Brother since the Denise Welch series last year.

Seems to be doing well enough. Launch show this year was up on last year. Last night's show had 2.1m excluding +1.

Channel4 are heavily trailing their new drama Utopia. They have had short stings for about a month as well as four or five different sets of trailers being shown continuously for the last two weeks. As well as that, theres billboards for it around town. This is a lot of marketing expense, ratings will have to be good from the start to make up for it.

Glad to see The Chase once again beating Pointless, despite many people's predictions that without kids programmes Pointless would be boosted into the lead. They are both great shows, but it's good to see ITV with a success story on its hands, seems so rare these days. Tipping Point has been gradually growing and I'm glad to see that too.

CBB performed well again last night, it seems to be another very steady series for the show.

First episode is very good according to somebody that's seen it. Their dramas haven't been getting the ratings recently but Secret State and The Fear have been very good. They just need one to breakthrough like Line Of Duty did for BBC2.

Yep, 1,100 (0.01%) to be precise. It's available on Sky and Virgin, so I don't know why Challenge +1 doesn't seem to add much (no more than 14,900 consolidated for any programme on 2 January, for instance).

Good to see two quizzes that I enjoy doing well with Pointless and The Chase. Just don't kill them BBC1 & ITV!

That's quite consistent. Imagine how it'd do if it wasn't always erratically scheduled as filler and given a decent run.

Midsomer does get 6-8 episodes per year which is more than what other feature length drama get but episodes are spread out rather than shown in one block. I imagine it would do nearer 6m but for a 15 year old show, it's been a reliable performer.

It got 2.27m incl +1 last night It is currently around 150-200k higher than CBB10 and around the same as CBB9 as both series have achieved a 2.4m average in the first 7 days.

BBC2 - 6.1% (2011 - 6.6%)
ITV1 - 15.7% (2011 - 16.6%)

"BBC1 controller Danny Cohen said: "The Olympics were undoubtedly a centrepiece moment for us but it was 17 days out of 365 and you can't get that growth, and growth in peak, without a strong year overall.""

It would be interesting to quantify how big an effect the Olympics and Jubilee had on the numbers - ie what the BBC1 figure would be excluding those 17+4=21 days. I'm sure Cohen is right but whether the overall BBC1 number for the remaining 345 days would actually be up I don't know.
