Oscars will do well methinks, because unlike most years it's far from clear who is going to win best picture.

Re the snow, the fact it has snowed does not of itself have an impact on ratings, it is when it snows with such magnitude that people can't be bothered to, or simply cannot, leave their houses that it has an impact on ratings.
Particularly if they cannot get to work in the first place. If snow falls hard during the day, they are more likely to be stranded on a motorway or train during primetime than curled up watching the telly. Nothing this winter has been of that magnitude. |

Some daytime ratings I've found for BBC1 and they did very well from 9.15-1.00pm 9.15am Wanted Down Under 1.51m 10.00am Homes Under The Hammer 1.58m 11.00am The Sheriffs Are Coming 1.51m 11.45am Cowboy Trap 1.47m 12.15pm Bargain Hunt 2.31m |

I'm slightly confused about American Idol. It premiers on Five* on Thursday night but it's on Channel 5 on Friday night.
Does anyone know what channel has rights to it? It would make more scene airing it on Channel 5 after CBB. It could get over a million! |

UK TV Ratings @TVRatingsUK
#MyMadFatDiary last night launched on E4 with a disappointing 373k (2%). That is atrocious in my opinion. Quote:
Channel 4 are very happy with it apparently!:
James MacLeod @jamesmacleod @TVRatingsUK #MyMadFatDiary not disappointing. It averaged 499k (E4 total) up on slot avg. About 8x audience for Girls on Sky Atlantic Channel 4 Press @C4Press Great start for #MyMadFatDiary on @E4Tweets - launched with 500k last night at 10pm. Up on the slot average and drew 8% share of 16-34s. Enough about ratings, time to invite you all to slag off ITV again: http://www.televisual.com/news-detai..._nid-2378.html A DIY show, with three judges X Factor stylee, hosted by Christine Bleakley. What could possibly go wrong? It's got Tuesday 8pm written all over it! |

Doing well although not skewing quite as young as I'd have thought - must be lots of terrified mothers watching before they tear up the passports!
![]() Also, looking at Channel 4's overnights and officials, it seems that C4's timeshifting is dropping hugely. The real time viewing numbers are lower than the overnights, and the timeshifted figures consolidate it to a number that's a little higher than the overnights! Slightly worrying. I've just seen on Channel 4's press site that The Last Leg will now start on Fri 25th Jan at 9.30pm |

I can only see "My Big Fat Diary" dropping.
I watched it, it was billed as a new "Inbetweeners" type comedy. It wasn't. The humour was very gentle/subtle (read as rubbish) or it was totally over the top but missing the mark and ended up just not funny (mum and new boyfriend making loud sex noises, food fight). It was some hybrid between a teen drama and a teen comedy with neither the "grit" of skins nor the amusement of Sugar Rush. It just fell flat. It was also 1hr long... too long... it should be 30 minutes, it was 1hr where not a huge amount happened. The lead actress was pretty good but the actual content was poor. I won't be turning in again. I will switch back to Girls which i recorded last night. |

ITV wouldn't lose viewers after The Chase if it didn't finish 5 minutes early |

Yes, sadly it failed but alot was lost in translation, while property auctions aren't really in the UK psyche. Quote:

I'm hoping Death In Paradise can emulate the sitcoms last night and climb above 7m in the overnights.
This is its perfect home in the schedules - January, bringing some warm Caribbean sunshine to our miserable British winters. |

Tbh I think it sounds like it might get that Wednesday 8pm slot. |
