Decent retention indeed given the detective drama competition on itv which presumably did better than the 2m rated flop last week.

CBB: 2.33m (12.7%)

Terrific share. Beat BBC2, ITV and C4 very easily.

Surprised you haven't mentioned peak figure - 2.63m (16.5%)! (inc +1)

Particularly if they cannot get to work in the first place. If snow falls hard during the day, they are more likely to be stranded on a motorway or train during primetime than curled up watching the telly.

Nothing this winter has been of that magnitude.”

Miss Marple got 1.9m excluding +1. When you consider Death In Paradise only got over 6m in series 1 with consolidated figures I'd say it's doing very well.

Things are back down after a little snow boost yesterday. They said on the weather today that we could see a significant amount on Friday across the country. So maybe we'll see a boost for the weekend shows.

9pm: Body of Proof: 1.17m (4.8%)

5USA: The Expendables: 491k (2.4%)

An excellent rating for Celebrity Big Brother, it had that spark last week that got people talking and tuning in. Really hurt Utopia which had 1m excluding +1.

Utopia got 957k (1.09m inc +1)

Ouch. I do feel bad for C4 though, they didn't deserve such a low figure for Utopia.

I thought the Marple repeat would get 2/3m in all honesty.

Channel 4 dramas don't work at 10pm, they've mostly had that figure recently with Secret State, The Fear and now Utopia. They should go at 9pm but they have other shows that perform well there so they won't be moving. That's why I think some snazzy ad campaigns are a waste of money. Why have an expensive trailer when you can just cut a 30 second trailer with clips? Worked for Line Of Duty on BBC2.

isn't Utopia a dark drama, even the lauded Black Mirror wasn't a massive hit with viewers

I suppose 1-1.5 million is standard for those types of drama

That is a brilliant rating for CBB, and look at that peak share! Wow. It really hurt Utopia which I expected to get 2m including +1.

Great figure for The Undateables, pretty much static on last weeks opener and Death in Paradise did well to hold onto those viewers.

I thought Black Mirror was vastly overrated and the best story was the one not written by Charlie Brooker.

Still a million behind Corrie, I'd like to see it get over 9m a few more times. But considering where its ratings have been for months this is good news.

I totally agree, comparisons to mainstream fare like Line of Duty are ridiculous imo. The 10pm slot is also not a problem, it worked fine for This is England and Shameless.

As well as being a bit of a ratings geek, i'm a bit of a weather geek, and am on the NetWeather forum a lot.

We really could see some big ratings for the weekend, as much of the country is in for some very very serious snowfall, beginning to push in from the west on Friday. Watch this space....
