Selfridge dropped a ton on last week, not a rating that will please ITV.

A Downtonesque overnight for CTM.

More importantly, big slump for Selfridge - did Ripper St beat it?

Mr Selfridge down nearly a million on last week is slightly worrying.

And 18% for the Skate-Off looks very low, doesn't it?

Really poor night for ITV IMO. Sundays used to be strong for them.

RATINGS CLEAN SWEEP!!!!

BBC1 wins every flagship 9 slot last week Monday to Sunday.

Outside of the Olympics, I cannot remember when if ever that last happened.

Certainly not in autumn and winter!

Seismic!

Mr Selfridge is not the hit ITV were hoping for!

yes, that is poor considering both the high hopes for the show, and the poor weather in alot of places last night.

That said Ripper Street, didnt beat it by that much, Mr Selfridge may win out when you include +1.

I assume Dancing On Ice is down year on year, this may well be its last year.

Ripper aside a very strong night for the BBC, with the whole schedule preforming well, shame Ripper wasn't more like 6.3m just to round off a good night.

More worrying is that Splash is rating nearly as well as Mr Selfridge, I wonder how this thread would react if that happened to Downton Abbey.

It is. Series 1 ended on 9.24m which was CTM's highest overnight rating.

A Downtonesque overnight for CTM.

More importantly, big slump for Selfridge - did Ripper St beat it?
Ripper Street went up to 5.64m and beat Mr Selfridge excluding +1, including +1 Mr Selfridge was ahead.

That is astonishing
And CTM peaked at 10.1m.

Ripper is bang on where I thought it would be. It's doing fine.

It's a refreshing change for a Sunday. I am enjoying it it's improved enormously throughout it's run. First episode was the worst.

So much for snow boosts then. Is Ripper St up? Worrying for Selfridge, first week I didn't watch it, but that wasn't entirely my choice anyway.

To be honest with Selfridge the main problem I'm finding is the lead guy! He's perfectly good in the role, but I wonder if I'm not the only one finding the OTT American enthusiasm of the character a little tiresome after a while. Not great for a show when you're more interested in the side characters.

DOI main show dead level with last week no? Not too bad really. Skate-Off is unexciting but still up on Family Fortunes which held up well itself.

Fantastic as expected for Midwife.

Scary stuff when Countryfile nearly tops the night. Yikes.

BBC will be pleased all round. Think ITV will just be glad DOI didn't drop and that they had a 5 million+ show against Midwife.

Ripper Street went up to 5.6m and beat Mr Selfridge excluding +1, including +1 Mr Selfridge was ahead.

0.51m up on last week. I'd put that down to a CTM boost rather than a snow boost though.

The Dance Off will slump still further next week with Top Gear also in the mix! 5m?

CTM will be hit too, and there may not be snow.

But with the rate Selfridge is shipping viewers, ITV remains deeply in the doo-doo!

I am not criticising Ripper Street, finally a worth while period drama on Sunday night. Its rare I find one, that I like.

I just wish its ratings were a little higher, seems to let the night down.

The story isn't whether or not it beat Ripper Street depending on whether you include/exclude +1 though, the story is how many viewers it lost week-on-week. (over 1 million)

Only if it continues to fall. If it can stay around 7 million then it's fine. They might just be better moving it,

Trouble is, it now provides an alternative to the drama/documentary sort of stuff on BBC1. Whereas before ITV would have a staple hit at 8pm on Sundays, they've now lost that slot and having another drama there would be very risky unless it appealed to an entirely different audience.

But DOI on Saturdays could flourish or at least get back to ratings it had for 2010/11 which were acceptable. It's just a case of finding something solid for Sundays.

I didn't think you were. It's a shame it couldn't of stayed at 6m but the gore must have turned the wimps away.

It's like silent witness old fashioned style! ITV will be on that idea in a flash!

There's a pretty good chance then that the Skate Off will be in the 4m's. Ouch and a half... dreadful.
