It's a dark storyline - even for Hollyoaks - the show is finally referring to form.....
This is something they could clearly go crazy with after the watershed. |

08/01/2012 PERFORMANCE: 8.70m (32.8%) exc +1, 9.00m (33.9%) inc +1
08/01/2012 SKATE OFF: 6.53m (24.0%), 6.73m (24.75%) 15/01/2012 PERFORMANCE: 7.71m (28.8%), 7.90m (29.5%) 15/01/2012 SKATE OFF : 6.31m (23.5%), 6.54m (24.3%) 22/01/2012 PERFORMANCE: 7.11m (27.7%), 7.33m (28.5%) 22/01/2012 SKATE OFF: 5.90m (23.0%), 6.12m (23.85%) So actually while it plummeted last year, it has actually remained consistent with the second episode this year with no noticeable fall for the main show. As a fan of the show, I'm aware that's straw clutching, but it's something positive Don't know how likely it is to go back above 7 million though...

The equivalent highlights last year is recorded as having been 2.43m, 370K +1. ie a drop of about 10% from 2.8m to 2.55m ?

No major snow boosts again this time then, apart from arguably The Chase (which still seemed to be gradually peaking over time anyway). Think this sort of thing must only happen when it's blanket snow across the UK, like back in 2010. At the moment when it happens in one place, another is fine.
Corrie is impressive but it's a January Monday and that was a massive storyline. Probably would have reached those levels regardless of weather. Everything else almost as expected. Can't see Emmerdale getting any officials over 9 this year unless it already has. Depends what's happening at the end of the year.. And Father Brown over 2m again.

Corrie full-slot averages were 9.6m and 9.7m excluding +1.
Factoring out the ad break and the early finish the averages were 10.2m and 10.6m (again exc +1). |

Not sure how people are saying this series of CBB is on the up when the ratings are lower than last year.
The equivalent highlights last year is recorded as having been 2.43m, 370K +1. ie a drop of about 10% from 2.8m to 2.55m ?

That episode was a pretty major one in the last series (Denise Welch getting herself into a bit of bother with the twins) and it had less competition than the show did last night. If you take the average, it is indeed up, albeit not by a great amount at the moment. More people seem to be recording it as well if you look at the official ratings on the BARB website. By the series' end it could be a fair bit up, but a lot depends on how the final rates.

Any ratings for Playing The Field? It's currently being repeated on CBS Drama. (Was on last night) Used to love this series back in the day.

Looks like the heavy snow in the north gave ITV the bigger boost. (Highest overnight of the year so far for the 2nd Corrie. 1.5m more than EastEnders. Highest ever rating for The Chase)

Anyone got full consolidated figures for the first Lewis two parter? Wonder if enough held part one over to watch in one go, to give the second episode a lift?

If viewers held part 1 over to watch with part 2, then the first part would really suffer as they didn't watch it within 7 days for the BARB ratings.

Will ITV2's US sitcoms last the distance in that slot with those numbers? Up All Night in particular looks really low with just 0.5% share of the audience compared to the ITV2 average share of 2.5%.
On a completely different note, great rating for Dispatches yesterday. |

Exactly. So part two could/should be higher.
8.09m for Lewis including +1. Mrs Brown's Boys had 9.66m adding over 2m to its overnight and Miranda had 8.88m. |

Bit On The Side handled it superbly well and exposed it for the non-issue that it really is. Two rehearsals, on site, with a producer accompanying him, and no non-rehearsal related contact allowed. That was it. The Great Big Cover Up has bored me to death today. But tomorrow is a new day and the show will go on, even if I don't make it.
![]() P.S. Apparently it was first revealed in Star Magazine - a Richard Desmond publication - last week. Oops! Not such a big cover up after all. ![]() Quote:
But then it gets lost amid all the other Comic Relief programming, and doesn't seem as special as it does out on its own. The fact it's for Comic Relief is peripheral to the show, the fact is it's a special edition of a big show.

Impressive for My Mad Fat Diary considering the only adverts I saw for that rush repeat was the usual "what's on tonight on E4" trailers.

It isn't. Last year's DOI performance shows were 45 minutes longer and clashed with Midwife from ep 2.
Ep2 was down 500k and ep3 was also down despite the snow, no midwife clash and a much shorter show, And yes it was longer last year, but the point is the drops across the first three episodes were noticeable. With this series the third episode dropped by almost nothing on last week. And the snow affected nothing on Sunday as we've seen. It's that first 15 minutes bringing down the average massively so far, the news rating high and then going straight into Blandings. |
