I appreciate that but surely there is a limit to the number of times the same statements are made and no thank you I wont be moving on.

With great respect, you are missing the important point.

I believe this thread acknowledges that she did her best, with enthusiasm and hard work. But, demonstrably, as she herself admitted, she did not have the talent that the finalists have demonstrated.

The 'unfair' comment, if you like, is that the Judge's, and others, have repeatedly said that she is the 'people's champion', which is both untrue and unfair to the finalists, one of will become the actual 'Peoples Champion'.

Give her praise and credit where it is due, and I, for one, willingly do that, but she cannot be described as any form of 'champion' - the contest has not been completed and she was eliminated in the semi-final.

Semi-finalists cannot, by any definition, be 'champions' and it was quite foolish of Len, for one, to claim otherwise.

As I say, she did well to get to the semi's - all credit for that, but do not take the majority of comments in this thread as 'Lisa bashing' - they are not!

My apologies Alan. I just get a bit upset that at the beginning Lisa was a heroine and everybody loved her but by the end she became the devil personified which I felt was a bit unfair. I didnt vote for her and I was pleased she went on Saturday as it was her time but some people just keep on and on about her. She did not name herself the peoples champion, I think it was Len or Bruce who did so who can blame her for feeling that she was.

Sorry again if I was a bit hasty in my condemnation.

Looking at the youtube views, Lisa is miles ahead of anyone else, followed by Louis.

It's a pity she wasn't that successful in gathering public votes, she'd be in the final if she had.

My guess is that regardless of who wins this series will be remembered as being associated with Lisa by the general public. Of course not all members of the public will agree and that's fine but most of the buzz has been about Lisa, and it's not like she won't be in the final show, she just won't be competing!

I think she was pretty successful for 10 shows actually

As was said time and time again on here, the semis seems to be where the voters get serious, so the result was of no surprise to me.

I don't know why they don't release the voting figures.

She was pretty successful at keeping the judges on her side. Even Craig seemed to suffer from selective blindness this year.

What could you expect from a one-time failed apprentice welder?

The people's champion tag comes from a generalised idea from media and public feedback/opinion. And with Lisa, media feedback and public feedback (on line, or in person from her encounters) seemed in the main to be good, so then the idea is formed that she was liked alot by people with the positive about her is seemingly (whether accurately or not) outweighing the negative. The same counts for Denise but in the opposite way. It looks like the negative (whether accurate or not) is outweighed by any positive, so she is by opposite definition the people's looser.

Or, on the other hand, dispense with the bitterness and vitriol and actually begin to enjoy seeing four talented dancers in Saturday's show!

Perhaps that was because Craig has booked her (and Artem, Natalie and Ian Waite) for his Strictly Confidential show which he is taking on tour next summer?

Maybe if he criticised her too much it would put people off from buying tickets?

Just a thought

Precisely - her disastrous salsa is far and away the most popular of last week's dances. Why might that be? Is it because it was great or because there's a bit in it where the professional makes a hideous mistake with the choreography that leaves his partner looking like a beached whale?

Point is, that she's the one people wanted to watch. The reason doesn't matter, it's all about the numbers...bums on seats, etc.

Cha cha cha wasn't disastrous and that's had over 200,000 views

Nobody else comes close. Louis is next with 118,000 I think.

The winner is not always the one who lifts the Glitterball.

N:B I was not blinded by Lisa's lack of dance technique

Even if she had topped the public vote last week she could still have been in the bottom two so this argument does not pan out I'm afraid.
She was out because she was in the bottom 2 with Denise NOT necessarily because she got fewer votes than any of the others.

If you are going to call it a cha cha it was a disaster. It doesn't matter how many people watched it.

If she'd topped the public vote last week, Louis would have been in the dance off with her. She didn't get the most votes.
