When does Stuart Blackburn take over from Phil Collinson on Corrie?

As above really - does anyone know when Phil Collinson leaves Coronation Street and whether Stuart Blackburn is working on the programme's storylines now or whether he'll only be able to dictate direction when he fully takes charge?

I seem to remember when the ever popular Bryan Kirkwood took over from Diedrick Santer they had a crossover period where both of them were executive producers for a time to ease Kirkwood into the role. Is it going to happen this time with Blackburn and Collinson?

Thanks.

Yes it's January but not sure if they'll be a crossover period with Blackburn and Collinson!

I'm sure they'll be 68 threads on here around Feb/March time though, all asking "Is Blackburn's stuff on screen yet??"

If Roy starts walloping his Mum,and Hayley shacks up with Norris, then we'll know his stuff is being screened

Hilarious. I'm sure there's gonna be a crossover point. They may well be working together now. Who knows?

Thanks everyone. I think the main reason I ask is beacuse I'm wondering if Blackburn has any say in the show 's direction now after
Spoiler
the news that Timothy West is joining the cast. It feels like a Collinson appointment rather than something which Blackburn would do but if he's only joining in January he's not going to have much time to work with Collinson before Blackburn takes over.

Yes it does feel like a Collinson appointment. Definitely. Perhaps Tim West isn't gonna stick around long? It's very likely they have had conversations about the shows direction, who to bring in and of course stuff is storylined months ahead, so it makes sense that Collinson has appointed, but I'm sure there was some chat with Blackburn about direction and he's approved casting and story lines.
