Looking for some help and guidance from you guys...

Have an old Venturer Home Cinema STS20 I think...DVD player has gone in it, won't play any dvd's. I've cleaned the lens but it just keeps on clicking when it moves the lens chassis.

Think I need to look into a new system but was thinking would be a shame to chuck the speakers out too, so I was wondering is there a dvd player I can buy where I can use my existing speakers to create the Home Cinema or will I chuck them and buy a new system?

Novice at this so looking for some help!!

The output power on the Venturer is poor anyway. I'd buy a totally new set. Go for a panasonic next time - Excellent home cinema systems.

How much is your budget as that will determine any recommendations that come your way.

Keeping the existing speakers is an option - I assume you have at least 5 of them and a sub woofer?

I am looking to purchase a Panasonic Home cinema system, any recomandations?

The stumbling block for me is no Optical on most of them, should this put me off as I am also thinking about purchasing SKY+??

If the system has a coaxial digital input, you can use an optical - coax converter like this one (about £15)
