"They are immense, they are considerable," he promised. "[The episodes] will be full of tremendous surprises. But they wouldn't be surprises if I accidentally said them now, would they?

"But I promise you, we're going to take over television. Trust me."

Going with the classic-doctor per episode theory. Seems like something Moffat would do.

That's the rumour I've heard. A past Doctor will appear in each episode but in the background and not actually part of what is going on.

I've also heard that:-

Spoiler

But not sure how reliable this is.

One of the episode teasers from a spoiler-free review was:

With a whole EIGHT new episodes so far listed? Wow; I can't wait. Seriously though, unless we get a set of specials for the anniversary I'm going to be very disappointed next year. We seem to be getting less and less each year, not more.

I think it's 8 later in the year, as well as the series in April.

And a line gets crossed. That is totally out of order stcoop and makes me ashamed to have sided with you on another thread. Yes. I am now prone to doubt when it comes to Moffats pronouncements but here's hoping he comes through this time and really delivers. Isn't that what we all want? The lack of news and spoilers on the year ahead can give you hope that just maybe something massive is imminent. Who knows.

Nah, it's the remaining 8 episodes of Series 7 starting in April, then Anniversary stuff later in the year, I'm 99.9% sure.

stcoop is seemingly no longer with us. I weep the loss of his sniping, rude, insulting comments in every thread. Especially after his post in here.

My post was slightly out of order as well, but I'd had enough tbh. Seeing as I logged out after I commented I shudder to think what was posted afterwards!

Why on Earth would they use the name of a recurring villain as code for a different recurring villain?

I'm prepared to wait and see. Also really excited by the Mark Gatiss drama about the Doctor Who origins.

This DWM extract was posted at GB, from last year

So will you still be with the show in 2013? Or will you be dead by then?
"I'm hoping I won't be dead," [Moffat] states confidently. Yes, it would be a downer. "Unless they sack me or I suddenly run away, elope with a Sontaran or something... yeah, I'm sure it'll be me. And there will definitely be something fantastic. But I don't know what. Genuinely, I don't."

A multi-Doctor story?
"Well, when I was a kid...actually, I wasn't a kid when The Five Doctors was on, but I was incredibly excited about it. What a cracker of an anniversary celebration that was! They pulled out all the stops. They stuffed everything into it. Maybe people are slightly cruel about it nowadays, but The Five Doctors was brilliant back in 1983. I couldn't believe that the BBC had been so nice to us.

"And Tom Baker," he adds, "you should be ashamed of yourself." Tom declined to appear in the special anniversary episode. He was represented instead by some previously untransmitted footage from aborted 1979/80 serial Shada. Steven continues to address Tom: "Every day of your life, you should regret the decision you took that day..."
Steven should perhaps invite Tom back for the 50th anniversary?
"Yeah. Well. Maybe."

What on earth did I miss last night, it's usually you telling me to calm down.

What has Stcoop said? I know he can be rude and unthinking at times but I have also backed him up in other threads.

We all disagree and lose our tempers on here sometimes but there is that, invisible and unspoken, line that we try not to cross.

You're usually quite calm/relaxed and not easily wound up (unlike me) so I guess I'm kind of shocked.

It started with his posting in here asking when we were all going to realise that moffat is talking bull**** and taking us for fools etc.

I called him a name and said (sarcastically) that we were all obviously thick as s**t (for being taken in by Moffats obvious lies) .

I then logged off. When I logged back on stcoop had been given a forum holiday

So .... regarding the thread title and Moff's comments...

It ain't just gonna be 8 + anniversary + xmas is it?

You don't ''take over 2013'' with 9 episodes.
