Tonight's episode should win Best Single Episode at the awards.

Haven't been so shaken by an episode of soap in years. Found tonight's scenes more harrowing than the rape plot.

Absolutely phenomenal stuff with amazing performances from Natalie Gumede, Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine.

The violence tonight was really shocking, and I was in tears at the last scene - I never cry at soap.

I agree it was brilliant, the acting from Natalie and Alan was amazing and I usually don't rate Jennie but she was also very good when she saw all his bruises. This SL has been my favourite, its so emotional and harrowing, I think Corrie have done a good job.

I didn't like it one bit. It is not entertaining to watch violence like this.

The part in the cafe where Fiz was looking at all the bruises and scar Tyrone had were what got me Also the episode did a really good job of showing what a day in the life of an abused spouse is like, usually we only see small clips from Tyrone and Kirsty, tonight we got to see the whole day, with Tyrone constantly having to cover his tracks.

There is a fine line between what is entertaining and dramatic

Was just about to post a similar thread, having caught the episode on +1.

I agree - tonight's episode was amazing and quite possibly my favourite Corrie episode of the year. I was in tears at the end as well. I can't get over what an amazing actress Natalie is - she is absolutely superb.

How can you sit and watch it? I know it goes on in real life but do we really need it shown in a soap??

Some people actually believe it is real. It is only acting.

If you enjoy watching that violence then you must be as bad as Kirsty. I had to turn away because Tyrone happens to be one of my favourite characters.

This. I don't know what show it was but my mum told me a man was speaking about his experience as a victim of domestic abuse and he said Tyrone story was like watching his life, the controlling and abuse
I think Corrie have done a really good job in this SL.

Bad things happen to good people.

It's called life.

And you're acting like we haven't seen a domestic violence story before on soap...?

I thought it was a very good episode tonight, and it was harrowing to watch. The last scene with Fiz and Tyrone was heartbreaking.

Great work from all 3 actors.

Absolutely brilliant and terribly sad.

So well acted by all three of the main characters.

That's like saying people who watch Titanic enjoy watching people die.

Sorry, I have to disagree, I thought it was poor.

This whole storyline has been a wreck from start to finish. Instead of highlighting the issue at hand, they turned it in to a purely manipulative plot device in order to pair Tyrone up with Fizz again.

They have ruined the character of Kirsty and in doing so have killed off any potential for the future.

I just don't buy the whole storyline. I don't find Tyrone believable as the victim, Fizz is her annoying busy-body self, who has nothing better to do than interfere in someone else's life and Kirsty has been way over the top throughout. Jennie Mcalpine is continuing with her hammy acting as well.

The true story in this should have been about mental health issues and seeking help, as well as the domestic abuse part, not someone going over the top, without control and help, abusing a big beefy man, whilst no one blinks an eye lid and his ex secretly sneeks in the back room whenever his partner is out.

It has sent out the wrong messages completely.

Yes, totally agree. It was a brilliant idea to devote the whole ep to this sl. Well done Corrie.
