Don't pester the Giants until you are a rather high level.
Same with mammoths. Watch the skies. Master the art of running the hell away whilst screaming. |

Dont try to fill all your skill trees, just pick a couple to concentrate on depending on your style of play same could be said of the quests, to many at once just gets confusing.

I picked it up for £8 at my local cash convertors on Monday but I doubt I'll get very far on it with the world ending tomorrow.

If you bought it on PS3 you may as well give up already.

I bought this game awhile ago but never got around 2 playing it ... Have all the glitches on the xbox360 version been ironed out? Might give it a shot sometime.

Few tips:
* Don't pick fights with "dumb" animals/creatures like Ice Wraiths, Polar Bears and Frost Trolls until you are at a reasonable level. I struggled with them for ages * Bolster your archery skill right from the beginning. I physically could not have defeated some of the dungeon bosses if it wasn't for the fact I never got into close combat with them. Back-pedal and shoot! * Be very careful with enchanting - while it might seem tempting to destroy every enchanted item you get in order to learn the enchantment, some of them you simply will never be a high enough level to enchant to that standard unless you put all your perks into it. Case in point, my character is still wearing a Steel Helmet of Eminent Archery for a 30% archery bonus. I could never enchant to that level (16% was the highest I could achieve). If you want to learn an enchantment, best wait until you have at least two items with it and you can destroy the lesser one * Forget about good vs. bad. Skyrim offers very few meaningful choices compared to Fallout 3. Always take the bad route if you want to get the associated items and weapons; it will have no bearing on how others view or interact with your character, so why wouldn't you? |

Level sneak and archery, put your points into the skills that give you extra bow and backstab damage and one-shot your way to glory! Or put them into conjuration, and make cups of tea whilst your summons kill everything.

I play it on PS3, and yes, at first it was very bugged, but the patches released afterwards fixed it(for me anyway). I have had no problems on the PS3 since then and I've played games lasting well over 100 hours.
As for tips OP?..just play your own way...its the sort of game where finding things out yourself is part of the 'fun'..imo anyway. and sometimes, other people methods arent the methods you might choose yourself. |

lol, yes. spend ages improving your weapons...or ignore all that and put it on easy or very easy.(Novice)
Its like trying to steal off people. Either spend ages getting your sneak etc skills high enough. Or.....just put a bucket on their heads and steal all their stuff right from start of game . ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmI799kEOSk )The game lets your choose many ways of doing things..If you like the hard graft to get something, fine...or if you cant be arsed, just find an exploit or drop the difficulty. something for everyone.

Ok, my previous silly answer aside I'd recommend investigating online which perks you can do without on all the skill trees. Some might look tempting, but be rather useless when it comes down to it.
For example, my first character has a lot in the lockpick tree, my second has maybe one and can still pick locks like a pro. Have a look on youtube for lockpicking tips if you need help. Try to aim for getting the house in Whiterun so you have somewhere to dump items until you can sell or upgrade them. If you want to pester Giants and mammoths, you can, but make sure they can't reach you so get up high on ledges or ruins. They will send you to orbit if they get in a swing or too. In the end, though, it's up to you. I still like my running away screaming suggestion however
