Pestered by an unknown number

Has anybody been getting phone calls from (what appears to be) a random number?

The past 3 days I've been getting calls from this number [0800 064 1087] I have no idea who or what it is. Possibly a scam. The first time they rang I ignored it because I don't answer numbers I'm not aware of. The second time they rang, it sounded like some foreign call centre. Nothing was said, it hung up after 2 seconds.

I did the obvious thing and tried to google the number and apparently it's meant to be o2 trying to get me to sign up to some crap? Quite confusing because I'm on Pay as you go, so I wouldn't have expected any calls from o2

Is there anyway to block or stop this number from calling? It really is grinding my gears

It's a third party calling on behalf of O2.

I;m on O2 as well and got a call from them about 2 days ago. Ignored it.

One thing i hate about O2 is that they sell all your private info to companies who actually proactively contact you to try and sell you stuff via text/phone. Never had any other network do this.

Most phones allow you to block numbers....If it's an android....There's an app for that.....

Mr Number app on Android allows you to block private and with held numbers.

I would never accept an offer from someone ringing me up. Even if it was a third party working on behalf of o2. And don't give them your bank details ever!
