As I've often posted when commenting about the judges, the comedian Jerry Lewis said over fifty years ago, that; "you can't beat a bit of carefully rehearsed spontaneity."

What next?

"Dave Arch and his wonderful, wonderful, menstruals?"

Must say I thought it was very brave of Denise to dance to "Walk Like An Egyptian" .

Personally I wouldn't take a chance on a fatwa with my name on it zinging my way from Egypt.

Laughing at ourselves is one thing but I don't think we'd be too amused by a Salsa hit in Cuba or Miami "Dance Like an English Dad". And most countries are a lot more touchy than we are - especially in the Middle East.

Is there ever a time when you don't suck the fun out of everything Strictly says or does, Doghouse Riley?

Take a step back and just enjoy the show.

Just prudent. I am not too keen on Fatwas with my name on them personally. But if Denise is happy then I am happy for her.

I don't remember the Bangles having problems. Or Wilson, Kepple & Betty come to that. You call it prudence? I could think of another name for it.

Making "fat" comments is potentially hurtful, but I don't see how an oblique reference to the fact that people reproduce through the bodily function of ovulation is "a bit personal". That does seem like an over-reaction to a victimless joke.

As has been said, it was Vincent who first used the word, but several people don't think it was accidental, as his command of the English language is excellent. I mean, he hasn't just come over here on an "olive oil and pizza boat" has he?
Fair enough once, but for me it just seems a bit tacky to treat it as a running joke.
I really don't mind if you think it entirely acceptable.

If English is not your first language and you have learned it later in life, it is very easy to use an incorrect word by accident. English is known as one of the hardest languages to learn. In the grand scheme of things this minor funny slip is completely harmless. Making more of it than that this is just too Mary Whitehouse.
