Volume Levels
What level of volume do you prefer to put your TV or radios etc at?
Obviously it depends on the item but I prefer when you can have a comfortable volume (not too loud and not too quiet) at about 25%. I dislike when you have to go above 75% or more to get a good volume. P.s. Because I mainly use headphones, I worry that I'll blow the TV's speakers if they come out while at a high volume. |

Errr, usually sort of 'sensible' levels.
The only time I turn up the volume very much is with certain films in my cinema room or if they play some music I'm fond of on Radio 3. ![]() You need one of those coiled extension cables for your 'phones so it never gets pulled out of the socket. |

One device you can have a high volume at 25% of the volume level, and on another you can end up having to put it at 95% or more just to get a level you can barely hear. I prefer when a high volume level it under 50% of the volume level, then you also have room for improvement if the volume degrades for some reason. Also because sometimes I like to listen to music with wax earplugs in (to block out external noise), it is helpful to be able to put the volume up higher than normal so you can hear it through the ear plugs. |

I just find it annoying that volume levels vary on devices.
Think about it for a second... a small amp isn't going to be as loud as something with a more powerful amp. It's not rational to expect them to produce the same volume level at as similar dial position if the amps have wildly different power outputs... Duh!! |
