I don't think she has been much of a success at all in America. Is there a market for her here in the UK?

If she has a nice personality, and talent-which she truly has, with the right songs (i didn't think Don't Fail Me Now was that good), I think she can actually be like the next Mariah Carey

I think it's too late for Melanie Amaro to find success anywhere unfortunately, they kept her hidden away for too long and that was a mistake, considering most winners who take their time to release their debut album have at least achieved a number 1 single before doing that, she hadn't.

Long Distance is available on UK iTunes if it gets airplay then I can see it doing well.

I would say no, she is just yet another generic voice in the industry who lacks anything special, she had no charisma or stage presence and i would not buy anything she sang

It takes a year to get the album out for every winner, both singles she released before the album did poorly. She brings nothing special to the table , she does not stand out among any of today's female artists. I said all of last year when it obvious she was going to win, that she was the wrong winner.

The wierd thing about Melanie is that her voice doesn't sound nearly as good on her singles as it did on XFUS. I was never a fan but she had a pretty strong, clear voice. On her records it sounds really processed.

She never had a chance with that crap 'Don't fail me now' song though - whoever decided that it should be her first single needs to be shot.

She's an RnB singer, that's her identity, and she's doing electro with auto tune. That does not work. It never will. Stay true to yourself.

I don't think so, there's not been a single contestant on that show that has anything remotely close the Xfactor. Lots of good vocalists with no star quality whatsoever. With Melanie being one of them...

The whole show is not a patch on the UK version.

I LOVED Melanie on USXF. Her first audition was amazing and most of her stuff used to bring me to tears it was so good.

Her singles though have been awful what a shame

She needs the strong female ballad type songs (think Mariah around the butterfly/charmbracelet eras)

Melanie has an incredible voice, but she doesn't have the X Factor.

I still can't believe America thought she had the X Factor.

Stacy Francis had a better story, Drew was a better all round contestant with something a bit different, and Josh and the ex-junkie guy were both better potential winners imo.

Um, yeah but it's now been a year since she won and she STILL doesn't have an album out. Most winners have an album out before the end of the following year's series or season.
They also didn't release a single for her immediately after the show ended, every other winner has a single out at least within a week of winning, if not right after the final ends.

I am worried for her. Syco hasn't dropped anyone since Matt Cardle in 2012 and with the arrival of the new UK and US acts, some people must in the line-up for the axe. I mean c'mon, all of US S1 acts have preformed so badly. If this one flops too, Melanie may be in for an axe, Chris too. Josh and Marcus aren't doing too great either. Only Rachel stands out with the Nick TV exposure, so she may do better as a teen pop icon similar to Cher but then again her debut single didn't even enter the charts - did it? In my opinion all of them are headed for the axe.

What Ozzy said. Don't think she has a chance, but then I also said 1D wouldn't make it in the US.
