Brilliant news Steve McFadden and Jake Wood (along with Adam Woodyatt) are the shows strongest actors and Phil and Max are both great characters. The show loses far to many good characters too soon when actors decide to quit after just a couple of years so its nice to have some long-termers to balance it out.

If Max sticks around for a few more years he's well on his way to becoming a very iconic characters.

Hooray for Phil. Steve McFadden is the best thing in EastEnders even in Phil's ropey eras, one of which he's unfortunately in at present. I couldn't care less about Max but maybe he'll become bearable again when Tanya leaves.

Yeahhh. Despite all thier faults as characters, I think they're both great characters and I'd miss them if they left forever especially Max. Also both Steve and Jake are wonderful actors.
