Samsung
I have never updated the software on my TV but have been having a few issues with Youview volume through the TV speakers using HDMI (2.1), so looked and saw there is an update available.
The update is in 2 parts T-CHL5DEUC_2009.0_Step1 and T-CHL5DEUC_2010.1_Step2.exe. Just wondered if anyone had any idea what the updates actually do? Thanks |

Samsung don't issue changelogs for their updates.....If I remember correctly, it was a minor update and not essential. I think there was a 2010 update also.....
I doubt the issue you are having is related to the updates....The inbuilt speakers are quite bad. What problem are you having exactly? |

Thanks, as you say there is 2010 update that was the step 2 I mentioned.
Have been having a problem with the volume fluctuating when viewing through Youview (Humax DTR-T1000) which is connected by HDMI, although SPDIF to my Samsung BRHES is fine. BT, who supplied the Humax have changed it and at the moment I have replaced the HDMI cable, a couple of times, and I have tried to get a balance between the TV volume and the Humax, the Humax has it's own volume adjustment at the moment, this will probably be fixed at one level once they allow 5.1 through HDMI. It has been better these last couple of days but I'm not convinced as it was 2 weeks before my original Humax started to play up. There are a number of issues with the volume sent by the Humax to the TV from what I gather from the Youview & BT forums (& elsewhere). My black BT Vision PVR worked fine for over 2 years with the same set up. BT have agreed to raise this as an issue with Humax. |

It seems unusual that you use the TV speakers at all as the sound is bad on a good day.
![]() I have everything going through my sound system. I don't even use the TV tuner to view any channels, I use my PVR. I still think it's a problem with the Youview box, but, if that is rectified by putting it through the sound system then that's the way to go, at least until Humax or YouView sort it out.... Good luck...

Point taken but my wife refers listening with just the TV speakers unless watching a blu-ray or CH4 HD programme in 5.1, who seem the only channel to use 5.1 extensively, as it means she only has to use one remote.
She also doesn't think the sound from the BRHES is as crisp to her ear when not receiving 5.1. It would be nice if there were more TV broadcasts in 5.1. |

Hi, have to confess not sure about the sound settings, will have to check the manual.
Yes the remote does control the TV as well. Thanks for the help. Merry Christmas |
