What makes that song 'the worst' for you, out of interest?
Shakin Stevens for me. |

You're welcome... ![]() But I do feel sorry for the poor girl who is dressed as a present. It's like the director thought she wasn't hot enough to prance around in a bikini or sexy Christmas outfit like the rest of them, so he ordered her to cover up

The Pogues - Fairytale of New York If I'm honest, with the exception of Jona Lewie's, the Pretenders' and Greg Lake's notable Yuletide ditties I'm not at all fond of any Christmas song recorded since the seventies. Give me the real vintage Christmas songs from the forties and fifties (Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley etc.) any day. |

The Pogues - Fairytale of New York Brilliant song. You can't claim that to be worse than Mistletoe and Wine? Gaudayne would be mine. |

Fairytale of New York is a brilliant song. Greg Lake's 'I Believe In Father Christmas' is a classic

we know that 'fairytale of new york' is a popular song, but get this, not everyone agrees.
the op has every right to nominate it as his/her least fav crimbo song. im personally very very bored of it. (and its not the only one). my least fav is that 'its the most wonderful time of the year'.... NO ITS NOT! ..i prefer spring! :P |

The jokey ones like Peter Kay's and Avid merrion for me.
Not too fond of Band Aid either, the lyrics are awful... 'Thank god it's them instead of you' What a cruel line! |

![]() God bless you and her always!!! ![]() Holly P.S. To me, her copy sounds more uplifting while the original sounds more on the depressing side of things.

Agreed about the McCartney one. I like a lot of his stuff but that's just insipid.
The only thing more tedious than Fairytale Of New York is the way that every playing of it is accompanied by some git saying "It's great isn't it, cause it's what Christmas is really like and ha ha ha she said faggot!" like easily impressed 8 year olds. That and the fact that any reason to wheel out Shane McGowan is one reason too many, |

Step into Christmas by Elton John. Hateful cacophony.
![]() And as I have said on the other thread..closely followed by the cover of Last Christmas by The X X - horrific. |

Taylor Swift is who introduced that song to me. When I heard her sing it, I thought that it was another song that she wrote since she writes her songs.

The Paul McCartney one, the tune is awful, can't stand it. Funny how no matter how many songs I miss on the radio or in the stores, I'm never lucky enough to miss that one
. Oh and Elton John's is almost as bad.My fave ever is Fairytale of New York
