Hello
Just saw the spoilers and everything looks interesting but I'm liking the spoilers about Brendan manipulating Joel into it, I know he's probably desperate but still he shouldn't manipulate a young man into doing it especially since he saw how Joel was after he killed his step dad.
Hollyoaks episodes lately in general have been making me feel uncomfortable, feels like we've gone back in time. McQueen overload and too much emphasis on family. It just doesn't make sense and people don't seem in character. People and relationships are being changed and made to how they were before when BK was there. I mean I thought I might be happy about Tony and Jacqui but honestly it just felt like a farce. I think Jacqui should be single and then later on be put together with someone new rather than be put with someone who she has history with. Also, its like there going back on character development. Its weird cause a few months ago Jacqui was this independent woman who had a adopted daughter but now its like she's stuck back at home and completely forgot about Pheobe. Also, since when did the McQueens before so close again? And have all the McQueens completely lost it and forgot what Browning and Mercedes did?
Its just felt so weird seeing this sudden transformation, I mean they have hardly interacted as a family and suddenly there having scenes where there suddenly the same close family as they were before. And last time I checked, before Mercedes went to prison she didn't give a damn about her family, she was blackmailing Myra into keeping quiet and planning on running away with Browning and then again after finding out that Riley slept with Mitzeee. I mean she didn't even care about them and now all of a sudden she does. It just seems abit like we've all meant to forget all that's happened between them and accept them as a tight knit family again and pretty soon I'm sure Mercedes will be back living at the McQueens or at the very least spending most of her time there. Its like BKs doing everything to make Hollyoaks the same as it was before, but its like you can't do that because it seems weird and out of place because things have changed.
Also don't let me get started on how the McQueens have suddenly taken center fold and how the old characters have started to dominate. I mean characters like: Tony, Jacqui, Carmel, Myra, John Paul, Nancy and Darren have suddenly started to dominate the screen. I mean okay give them screen time but don't suddenly forget about the other character. They really need to find a balance and not just have one certain family dominate one episode and another family dominate the next, they need to find the right amount of balance and not lump families together but have them as individuals and sort of keep the community feel and friendship feel and have less of the family feel. Its just annoying me how lately nothing seems to make sense and character just seem out of character and relationships feel too forced. I just feel like there was nothing wrong with how characters and relationships were before but all that needed changing was better scripts and better storylines. They had a good layout and setting but all they needed was better writing. When I'm watching Hollyoaks now all I can feel is a sudden BK feel to it, I mean the way Hollyoaks was before and how it is now, its supposed to blend together not just feel like an over night transformation.
I don't even know if I'm making sense or whether I'm just overreacting but I just needed to have a little vent. I've been watching Hollyoaks on and off for years and I don't just watch it for Stendan. I like watching hollyoaks in general and lately I've felt uncomfortable watching it.
But one thing I did enjoy, probably the only thing I've enjoyed lately is Darren and Nancy scenes. I've been loving Darren and Oscar scenes, he's such as adorable dad and you can honestly see how much he loves his boy. Those scenes were just adorable and I'm liking how the storyline is ringing true to reality and how it'd feel to find out that your sons deaf.
