Thank you kojeh.
![]() And I said earlier, I'd love Kieron to have some meaty scenes with Fintan, because Kieron so deserves to work opposite someone else that good. It's kind of thrilling watching Emmett and Fintan working together. |

That's a great post Sarah. It's very interesting because both Silas and Seamus have both done awful things so saying whether one is worse than the other is very hard but I do agree. I find Seamus much worse. Silas is a murderer and that's horrific. He kills innocent girls and judges them for their sex lives. There's no justifying or excusing that.
But Seamus raped and abused his innocent son repeatedly. child. His own flesh and blood. It makes you shudder. It also comes down to how the show presents them too. Despite the really chilling Silas moments (India's death and Rae's) the story was very very camp. It was full of one liners and the audience was loving and rooting for Silas in a way. It was like a horror movie in a soap and very fun. Seamus and Brendan on the other hand is grim. Gritty, dark. Nothing like it. |

Great post, Sarah. Gosh I never thought he'd get under our skins this quickly either but he has, hasn't he?
I bet Fintan's a love as well, I'd quite like an interview

Seamus also knows what he did was wrong, but he enjoyed having that much power over Brendan, he still is enjoying that power even though he can't physically do anything to Brendan now. He's the abuser, the one in the wrong yet he's making Brendan feel the shame of what Seamus did. It's very calculated. Seamus isn't someone who has no control, He did what he did, because he could and no one could stop him. It's a sad reality because a majority of victims who are being sexually abused rarely speak out. He just comes across as a merciless piece of scum. The casting is perfect. I'm really impressed.

One difference I saw in Seamus and Silas is that in Silas' eyes, he was doing the right thing by riding the world of the "unclean". Obviously it was 100% wrong to say the least, but in his mind he was doing the right thing.
Seamus is under Brendan's skin and it is for no other reason but badness. He doesn't think he is doing the right thing, he is just a controlling bastard. But I am loving the scenes between them. Electric. |

I did love what Theresa said about Ste and Brendan and that's what relationships should be like & not just a peck on the cheek at the end of a shift

The Silas stuff was a lot of fun and quite caperish for the most part, really. Like I wouldn't necessarily be friends with Brendan (at least in the past), I wouldn't be friends with Silas but they both have this likeability about them in terms of the story. Ok maybe the worst possible example to use Brendan but yeah
![]() Seamus seems pure evil and I felt uncomfortable all the way through his scenes yesterday. The intention, of course. |
