[Game] The Mix Factor 3: Live Show #9
Hello everyone and welcome back to the third series of The Mix Factor!
Last Monday, the top eight acts sang songs related to seasons in a bid to gain the public's support. This support was certainly needed as a double elimination awaited them at the end of the show. Soppyfan's final act Jesper was the unfortunate act to end up with the fewest votes, therefore leaving the competition in 8th place. But that wasn't all, as Chiara Galiazzo had to face Mrs. Greenbird in the sing-off! Both acts gave it their all, but in the end Chiara scraped through because she had more votes from the public. Today, the remaining six contestants will each be singing two songs. Both songs had to be cover versions, with one of them being an acoustic cover. That means we'll see a variety of choices tonight, and at the end of tonight's show one of the top 6 will be leaving the competition. Next show is the quarterfinal, so the pressure is on as the three remaining judges with acts want as many acts in there as possible! Speaking about the judges, please welcome the four judges of The Mix Factor and their acts! This will be tonight's intro tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDq3P6fZqiA bboy1988 and the girls Angel Tupai Danielle Penning unclekevo and the last of the groups Audio Vixen jackel1234 and the over 25s Chiara Galiazzo Daniel Vengsgaard Samantha Jade Soppyfan who has no wildcards remaining Is everyone ready for the show? Let's see how the mentors coped with the theme shall we? Judges, please confirm your presence. |

I am genuinely worried for my girls tonight as their song choices arent the greatest as I have been pretty busy but I am hoping the public will like them

Everyone's here, so let's get this show on the road as we have twelve performances to go through tonight!
We'll start off with the acoustic covers, leaving the more energetic performances for later. First up, it's last show's sing-off survivor Chiara Galiazzo taking on a John Lennon track: Real Love by John Lennon (piano acoustic cover) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8s15...F327D&index=89 |

Chiara Galiazzo
Chiara after being in the bottom 2 last week, where you did not deserve to be there we needed to come out fighting with this song! This song is a classic and with just you and the piano on stage it creates such a beautiful yet haunting atmosphere unlike any other! You sang the song beautifully with all the quirkiness your voice has and the stunning ability you have to have emotion with the song! Tonight this theme is all about the vocals and you proved how fantastic your vocals are! It was enchanting and beautiful Chiara! You just keep progressing and getting better and better! I couldn’t be happier with you. |

Chiara
Chiara, that was a really nice vocal representation of a beautiful song. If I am being honest I am missing a bit of fire with you. From the majority if the other acts in the competition I am starting to see the fire inside them and why they want to win. I hope that with your next performance that you come out and show me and the viewing pubic the reason why they have voted you to this point in the competition and why you want to win this. |

Chiara Galiazzo
Chiara, well done for getting this far. I thought this was a good song choice to get the show going and of course, your voice is unique. But seeing as we're now close to the final, I'm expecting more and more. I hope you can deliver that expectation in the second song. But for now, well done.

Chiara Galiazzo This was gorgeous Chiara, there is no way you deserved to be in the bottom two last week albeit nor did Mrs. Greenbird, congratulations Chiara, this is a really good song choice for you. It was perhaps a tiny bit slow but all the same, it was a very emotive song and you delivered it really well, I'm already a big fan of yours but after that, I'm even more of a fan, all I can say is this was brilliant Chiara, congratulations!

Good comments for Chiara, but the majority of the judges do agree that she needs to impress them with her second performance.
Next up, it's one of Stephen's acts. She was in the firing line of the judges last week, but still managed to avoid the bottom three. It's Angel Tupai singing a song that hopefully doesn't describe this performance: Just One Last Dance by Sarah Connor (cover) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o-_8GejsZI Note: Imagine this as an acoustic cover. I wasn't able to find an acoustic cover for this song that was suitable. |

Angel Tupai
Look Angel I know you’re mentor said I couldn’t find an acoustic so imagine it acoustic but either way this should really be considered a RULEBREAKER. I mean sorry but your mentor could’ve found another song besides this one in an acoustic style. I mean I know tons of indie/folk that aren’t acoustic for Chiara but I had to find another acoustic so it would stick to the theme otherwise we all could’ve just gone oh here’s a cover “imagine in an acoustic style” and all that stuff. It was a decent choice but it just didn’t reside with the theme, the cover part did but it needed to be acoustic and not imagine acoustic. Sorry but not the best for you Angel, you seriously need to pull something out of the bag to impress me now. gotta eat now

Angel
Angel, I think that was an absolute beautiful song choice and performance from you tonight. For a while in the competition I decided to take you down a rockier route but tonight we have went back to a more soulful direction. I understand this version wasn’t a fully acoustic track but like I said I really wanted to use this version of the song and couldn’t find a suitable acoustic cover so I hope our amazingly imaginative public continue to shower you with the affection of their votes. |

Angel...unfortunately, this song may be considered a rule breaker technically, but at the same time that was a fantastic choice of song. I think this is the most vulnerable side that we have seen from you in the competition and it was beautiful. I can't wait for your second song, good job, Angel.

Angel Tupai: Angel, this a rulebreaker is it not? You can't choose a non-acoustic cover for the Acoustic Covers theme because there are no acoustic covers of the song? The song choice was okay for you, a little bit dull and sort of reminded me of Unbreak My Heart by Toni Braxton but you did an okay job with it. My only issue with it is that you didn't do an acoustic cover even though the theme was Acoustic Covers? Why didn't your mentor find another acoustic cover and use this for Non-Acoustic?

I get exactly where you are coming from and I admit I did forget to send in the piano backing track that would allow it to be acoustic

Jack and Kev, you are absolutely correct, this is most definitely a RULE BREAKER, and it will be tagged accordingly in the summary post. Can Angel turn things around with her second performance?
Back to the over 25s again! He was in the bottom 2 a couple of shows back, but pulled it out of the bag last show and made it through. Today, he's singing a cover of a well-known rock track, it's Daniel Vensgaard! Losing My Religion by REM (cover) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLFuO...ature=youtu.be |

Daniel Vensgaard
*standing ovation* Daniel that is everything I have ever wanted from you and more! This song by REM requires such power and emotion when you do it in this style and by god did you do that in more ways than one! This song is just all about somebody losing their faith in religion and just losing what they have believed there whole life and means so much to me and when you performed it like this tonight I felt so much emotion and intensity that I just couldn’t get over it. Daniel you deserve to be in the quarter final after a performance like that because I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better performance from you. I mean you proved that not only do you have great rock energy that you Just... just stunning Daniel, just stunning I couldn’t of asked for more. |

Daniel
Daniel, I have to be really honest and say that I am really disappointed that you have sung such a predictable song tonight. I am not saying it was a bad performance because vocally it was a pretty good performance, but to play it this safe may not go down that well with the voting public. I am glad that there is another song tonight for each of the acts so that you will have another chance to make up for that. |

Daniel Vensgaard
Daniel, I have to say that I've been a big fan of you since show one, but tonight, I'm afraid this was one of your weakest performances and I feel disappointed in you. I pray that you can get it back with your second performance, because right now, you are in trouble I'm sorry to say.

Daniel Vengsgaard: The sound quality was a little hazy for this song Daniel but the vocals were okay I suppose. I don't think this was the best performance you have given? I think this song feels a bit lacking with a stripped back acoustic cover, it was just a little bit dull and you sort of overpowered the song with your vocals because it was so stripped back. Not your best performance but all the same, not a bad vocal at all, I quite enjoyed it overall, well done!

An odd mix of comments from the judges, with Jack giving his own act Daniel a standing ovation (the first of the series?) and Soppyfan being massively disappointed.
It's time for Kev and the groups. He may have lost one of them in last show's shock sing-off, but that hasn't stopped him from wanting to win this. Give it up for the last group standing, which is Audio Vixen! Hotel California by The Eagles (cover) Ria and Christina: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9ANSBCP4XY Ross: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h1604axh0U Note: They would use the arrangement of the first.

Audio Vixen
Guys, that was a really interesting performance tonight. This was really different to the normal style that I would expect from you guys. I am really starting to love this group and I hope that you guys can continue to impress me and hopefully the voting public and keep coming out and surprising us. Keep up the hard work guys and keep listening to Kev. |

I am genuinely gutted by those comments as personally I feel this is one of his strongest performances
also bboy I don't see the predictability in it? REM have got very smooth voices whilst Daniel has a very edgy voice?
