But if it was a corrected dislocation and she dances following it I am of the opinion that she will be very very sore and inhibited in movement .

What is the treatment for a rib dislocation?

An athlete may get anesthesia so that the doctor can manipulate the rib back in place. There is time pressure. It is hoped that treatment occurs within six hours to prevent complications.

After the rib has been re-established in its correct position it will be wrapped with an elastic bandage for compression.

The patient may also be given Acetaminophen for pain as well as, in severe cases, narcotics.

Once again we also run into the popular formulary of R.I.C.E. This stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation. This is primarily the athlete should perform on their own.

How long does it take for a rib dislocation to heal?

That is a hard question to answer because there are so many different levels person-to-person. Generally it takes about six weeks. Keep in mind that is just healing, that doesn't get the athlete ready to return to their sport.

Strengthening and conditioning are what is needed not only for recovery but for prevention.

There are potential complications that should be watched for. They are primarily shock and infection at the outset and as the patient goes along they must be watched for impaired blood flow.

The good news about a rib dislocation is that rarely is surgery required.

A rib dislocation is serious. A dislocated rib can also affect other parts of the body and there may always be more than one.

The best preparation is to understand what a rib dislocation is and get a victim immediate help.”

To sum it up you are saying she is a liar.

Same way sports people, dancers... everyone is back playing/performing a couple of days after claiming to have flu - real flu is not something you get over in a day.

I dislocated a shoulder and it took a nurse to hold me still and a surgeon and his registrar to click it back into place.

The pain was horrendous and I needed weeks of physio before I could use it even half normally. In fact the surgeon told me it would take around 12 months to return to normal - and it did!

Do whilst Denise might have suffered sprained ribs (they too are painful) there is no way she could dance so energetically with a dislocation.

I am also of the opinion that no medic would be willing to allow someone dance post a dislocation of a rib .

No one is harrasing you the claims you posted made it clear that either she would be too injured to Dance or she was not telling the truth and now because I asked you to qualify your post you are accusing me of harrasing you. If you are going to bring into question Denises ability to tell the truth then you should have the facts to back it up. I will leave it to other f/m's to decide if my question was harrasing.

Perhaps she has bruised ribs. It can be very painful. if she has a dislocated rib, for her own safety she shouldn't be dancing she could do herself untold damage.

Perhaps the injury is not as severe as has been reported.

I've just watched ITT and Deknees does seem to be holding herself stiffly in much of the interview, especially the bit where she's asked to comment on the ringer accusations.

So leaving aside the numerous belly laughs, shimmies, body pops and miscellaneous arm waving she managed whilst talking to Zoe, I'm sure that dislocated rib could trouble her, especially if she's first out.

Yes, my point too .I wasnt there so dont know but seems highly unlikely she had a complete dislocation .

I'm guessing it's just a rib out of place (which they've mistakenly called a dislocation), which is painful and limits movement and breathing , it can be corrected by a chiropractor or osteopath. Sore for a couple of days but one could still dance. I get them fairly frequently with hyperflexible joints.

Last word . She may well be misinformed , using wrong terminology , got the message wrong , was so doped she heard wrong, is exaggerating the injury etc etcetc etc .I do not know what the truth is .All I know is to dance with a reset disclocation would not be at allrecommended ,okay ?

Returning to the original question in the thread title, I think the answer might be "James".

It could any of the above but of one thing I'm certain she does not have dislocated ribs - indeed I'd be surprised if they are sprained.

Bruised sounds more plausible.

Even if they are only bruised, she's made of sterner stuff than me. I bruised my ribs a few years ago and I was in so much pain I didn't move for about three days. Even breathing hurt.

Good on her for carrying on.

In today's Daily Mirror there's an item about Denise injuring her rib. It mentions that Kimberley did the same thing last week. Was any fuss made about that? I don't recall any mention of it before.

Well apparently Kimberley also dislocated a rib and Louis says he will need an operation when SCD has finished for knee problems. So it seems like taking up dancing can be injurious to the health

Apparently gymnastics and ballerina have joint and knee problems. He said he has a bad back too and that is why he has not been doing many lifts. No I want be taking up dancing in that case

Yes, they would, as long as the medics gave her clearance to compete.

I feel that you are ready to jump on posters accusing them of nasty digs, hurling bile, being bitter. You are just sitting and waiting to pounce when they give an opinion if it is not the same as yours.

Tally of injuries, also filmed on ITT

James: eye, nose, ankle.
Denise: neck, whiplash, rib.
No-one can say they are not willing.

If people post they should be able to back them up,go back and check the post I was reacting to therewas one of two answers to that post either Denise was lying or she would not be able to Dance tonight there is no other way to look at it imo. I have better things to do with my day than sit waiting to "Pounce". The fact that people post negative things for the sake of it is not nice imo and some one has to defend her some of the time it is not my full time I can assure you. If people post claims then I think they require evidence to back them up, I believe that is in the rules of the board.

Sorry but you have read the response incorrectly. All they posted was a list of treatments based on the severity of the injury. The severity is something NO ONE KNOWS for sure.

Denise did not seem to be struggling in a lift from their show dance practice. Her knee however is quite clearly strapped up.
