1. James Arthur - Impossible
2. LIttle Mix - Cannonball
3. Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah
4. Joe MCElderry - The Climb
5. Shayne Ward - Thats My Goal
6. Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds
7. Leon Jackson - When You Believe
8. Matt Cardle - When We Collide
9. Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This.

James Arthur tops my list due to the fact he sounds like a dying polecat, impaled on a spike going through its privates, doused with chilli-vinegar...

He really has no talent and his a pseudo-angst-ridden, faux-rocker, un-original act is pathetic. His ego is writing cheques that his "talent" cant cash...and he has RUINED...completely and utterly RUINED Shontelle's song.

If he was going to sing that he should have looked her up on YouTube like he did for that LMFAO song and stole her arrangement.

Cannonball because all the life was sucked out of the song
The Climb because it was the stereotypical, haven't-i-done-well-me (not Joe's fault just a dready song).

I take it you love Leon's winners song to leave him out of this ranking?

the only winners songs i like are james and leon's as i really like them and voted for them.

the others i can't rank as i either don't care or didn't watch their series (eg i like shayne but only after watching you tube vids years after his win as i didn't watch his series).

1.Impossible - James Arthur (Not especially great but I like James' voice)
2.Hallelujah - Alexandra Burke (Not great but not awful)
3.That's My Goal - Shayne Ward (Boring but inoffensive)
4.When We Collide - Matt Cardle (Points for breaking the boring mold)
5.A Moment Like This - Leona Lewis (Dull)
6.The Climb - Joe McElderry (Another boring song)
7.Against All Odds - Steve Brookstein (Awful in any incarnation)
8.Cannonball - Little Mix (I hate to keep repeating the word boring but...)
9.When You Believe - Leon Jackson (Abomination)

I'm sensing a theme...

*Edit*

I just realized I put them in the wrong order

Would that be "banality, blandness, boring, inoffensive, pandering to the masses, bad karaoke, cringeworthingly earnest/inspirational pop..?" by any chance..?

Reverse order..........
1. Shayne Ward - Thats My Goal (this bland song needed someone less bland singing it, Ablisa did a better version)
2. Joe McElderry - The Climb (lacked any significance or emotion)
3. Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds (not a bad song but I've always disliked his voice)
4. James Arthur - Impossible (his 'squeezing out a fart' voice does begin to grate, but at least the song sounds like he chose it himself)
5. Little Mix - Cannonball (doesn't really go anywhere)
6. Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah (not really suited for her but she did a good job)
7. Leon Jackson - When You Believe (I did actually like this I must admit, deep voice appreciation)
8. Matt Cardle - When We Collide (it suited his style)
9. Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This (got majorly stuck in my head and I annoyed the hell out of myself always singing it in my head, so I guess it did its job better than the rest)

arranging those songs in order is like arranging animal faeces from least to most unpleasant to step in

of those iv'e heard Hallelujah is the worst example of cultural vandalism the XF has committed so far, but you wouldn't want to hear any of them twice

i will go from best to worse:
1.Leona Lewis- A moment like this (tbh i like it more than kelly clarkson's version so that means something atleast)
2.James Aruther Impossiable- its also better than the original and is one of his best performances
3.Matt Cardle When we collide- its not as good as the orginal and people hate him for singing it but i like his voice and think it was a good winners single for him
4.Joe climb- the song is awful but he did a good job even tho he is bland
4.Alexandra Hallelujah- crap ruined the song, never liked her
5.Shayne- you know you have an awful/sad carrer when 2 chavs punching each other while singing your song has like 100x the amount of views of the official video..
6.Steve AAO- he has a crap voice
7.Little Mix Canon ball- have no idea why this was there winners single didnt suit there voice or style at all
8.Leon Jackson when im cleaning windows- Is this a parody song or something?

i think I'd have to say alexander's - I loved the jeff buckley version. while she can hold a tune it was typical over produced rubbish. Cannonball follows closely for much the same reason

1 = Worst, 9= Best:

1) Leon Jackson - When You Believe (awful Michael Buble wannabe abomination of the underwhelming Whitney v Mariah diva duet)
2) Little Mix - Cannonball (insepid, anaemic, luke warm water cover of the great Damien Rice song, now if only their debut single had been a cover of the Breeders song of the same title things could have been so different)
3) James Arthur - Impossible (true its a great Shontelle track, but I don't like Arthur's style of vocal, whilst a studio version of the live B-sides would have been much better)
4) Joe McElderry - The Climb (An improvement on the hideous Miley Cyrus Disney track)
5) Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds (Compared to the Westlife & Mariah Carey musical ear-rape of the Phil Collins classic, this was not too bad)
6) Shayne Ward - That's My Goal (Manchester's answer to Justin Timberlake + a not awful song is the reason for its relatively high placing)
7) Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah (her gospel take of the Leonard Cohen standard was passable, but obviously no match compared to Rufus Wainwright or the definitive Jeff Buckley version)
8) Matt Cardle - When We Collide (Probably the best the utterly landfill rock Biffy Clyro have ever sounded)
9) Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This (Personally I prefer to the Kelly Clarkson original, but it is such a very good song, and a great vocal, despite Leona being a personality free zone).

I was thinking about this the other day - one of the music channels was playing the XF winners songs back-to-back. I don't know about anyone else but I quite like the winners songs videos just because it's good to look back on the show/contestants.

Best

Matt Cardle - When We Collide. I love this song.
Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This. Good song and Simon Cowell looks good in the video

Quite like:

Shayne Ward.
Leon Jackson.
James Arthur

Boring:

Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah
Steve Brookstein. I didn't watch the first series so I just don't care about this one
Joe McElderry

Worst
Little Mix - Cannonball. I like LM - but I just don't like this song. As soon as the opening lines started, I changed the channel. I also think the video is one of the worst 'winners' videos also.

1. James Arthur - Impossible (worst)
2. Leon Jackson - When You Believe
3. Little Mix - Cannonball
4. Joe McElderry - The Climb
5. Shayne Ward - That's My Goal
6. Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds
7. Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This
8. Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah
9. Matt Cardle - When We Collide (favourite)

I really enjoy Leona's, Alex's and Matt's songs. Steve's was fine, as was Shayne's (although I got a bit sick of hearing it after a while) and Joe's. Not keen on the others; James's is the worst one for me.
