I agree with John Murphy for 28 Days Later and
Sunshine. Ennio Morricone offers master classes though. I always liked For a Few Dollars More and the 'Chimes' theme And Carpenter's Halloween theme is perfect. |

I'm fully prepared for some stick, but one of the best soundtracks i've heard is from Josie and the Pussycats. For a pure pop album, it's absolutely fantastic.

Michael Nyman - Drowning By Numbers
He and Peter Greenaway were a match made in heaven imo so pretty much any of his scores could apply. Jon Brion - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Bernard Hermann - Taxi Driver Angelo Badalamenti - Twin Peaks The Wicker Man soundtrack |

No, you're not wrong on that one! While the bulk of it is their trademark campy rawk, there are a couple of tracks way ahead of their time - the second track (after the main theme) is incredibly similar to Vangelis' Blade Runner opening titles - and Queen's soundtrack was in 1980!

Has anyone mentioned Francis Lai? I happened to discover his music not long ago - beautiful compositions ideal for romantic movies:
