Gail Simone back on Batgirl...

Gail Simone has confirmed that she is to return to Batgirl shortly after being fired from the title by the editor.

To say this is a shock is rather an understatement.

The title has been critically praised and has been selling pretty well and the way she left the title (fired by email, of all ways) left a very bitter taste in the mouth of her huge fanbase.

Her fanbase is very loyal and vocal and they have been going nuts over the original news of her firing.

I've been an online friend of Gail's for several years and I'm a huge fan of her work and I'm really happy this has been worked out as I didn't want her to leave DC as I'm a huge DC fan and Gail's work at DC has been nothing short of excellent.

Batgirl has been a great title recently and if anyone deserves to be writing Barbera Gordon, it is the redheaded ex-hairdresser from Oregon.

Go Gail!!!

Makes no sense does it? Batgirl has been consistently intelligent and very readable.

The one 'New 52' title I really regret not buying. I got the one that featured Batwoman, and enjoyed it immensely. I'd like to buy the trades to catch up, but they are only out in expensive hardback thus far.

I'm still pissed they cancelled Steph Brown as Batgirl for this in the reboot.

if you have the comics app on your phone/ipad/computer you could download the digital version of the comics to catch up they cost around £1.49.
I've been catching up on Batman and Catwoman but it doesnt really beat the good old feel of the paper version

After spending days organising and cataloguing 7 long and 3 short boxes full of comics and working out how to store an ongoing collection going forward, I think I can happily give up the good old feel of dead tree versions for digital, lol
