Hi,
My g/f asked me to get her some baking parchment from Tesco this morning. I've come home to find i've gotten her greaseproof paper instead.

She wants to bake a cake in her breadmaker, so my question is will greaseproof paper do the same job as baking parchment or is it likely to burn in the breadmaker?

Depending on your answer means I either get soaking wet nipping back to Tescos or stay nice and warm until I visit my g/f's flat

Yes they are different. Baking parchment won't stick to the cake. Greaseproof paper might do unless greased.
