trifle: jelly or not

(Guess the TV programme?)

I'll happily eat both as long as they are well made/deluxe ingredients + with some alcohol in base.

I like shop bought trifles with jelly in them but I dont make my own with jelly. Use a swiss roll, fruit, custard and cream with a cadburys flake mixed in to it

I am in my mid fifties and my mum always made it with jelly long before shops made their own.

The trick with jelly is to put a lot of sponge that you have spread with jam ( I use Swiss roll) so that you dont see feel or taste the jelly its just a firmer sponge.

I like kiddies trifle as cant stand boozie trifle
