Do you seriously think TV manufacturers are going to provide software companies with the source code for the firmware from their TV's

Oh defiantly I think they are going to open source everything

What I would be interested in is how hackable are the systems, due to the fact people can store certain infomation about them selves and credit card details etc on smart tvs for example if they want to purchase movies, can the systems be hacked during the transmition of data... i have to admit it would not be worth hackers time really in doing this, they would want to target a bigger company for example like they did when play station got hacked..etc.. but as smart tvs become more main stream, could there be a threat?.. i think its a valid point.. but having anti virus software, is just a bit strange...
