*sigh* I guess it was too much to hope that there could be one night this series where that tired argument wasn't trotted out again.

I thought Denise's showdance wasn't that impressive tbh, and I've generally liked her this series. Far too many lifts and a couple of them looked like they almost went wrong. I liked the Tango section, but that was about it. Didn't even notice the Salsa step James had forgotten!

Yes I totally agree Peeve. I have voted for Denise as I decided to vote with my heart rather than my head (which tells me its a waste) as her dancing tonight has most definately been the best.

I agree with you peeve except that I don't think Louis will win. But who knows ??

I agree with this. Denise's showdance was amazing. Those lifts are the best we've ever seen on Strictly and of a professional standard- actually I don't think some of the pro's could have done them as well. It was a proper showdance and could be one of my faves ever, and I don't usually like the showdances. I also haven't really liked Denise all series, but she won me over with that dance tonight and I wouldn't mind her winning now.

I think after the past couple of weeks that if Denise and James manage to get into the second half of the show they will regard that as a small victory and I would be pleased for them.

Not impressed it's a dance contest not a circus act, not enough dance content for me
And yep she has advantage being danced trained

Totally agree. There's surely no way they'll expect to have a realistic chance of winning, so I think they'll be absolutely delighted if they could make it to the 2nd part of the show.

I thought the lifts in Denise's dance were executed incredibly well, but I felt there were just a bit too many of them. A superbly performed dance nevertheless.

On the whole I was not impressed by Denise's dance.

Dont get me wrong, doing lifts IS difficult for both pertners, and she coped well, the lifts were great.

But....

They should be. Shes a dancer anyway. Plus,

There were too many of them. And most of them she had done before. Too little dancing for me. And the Salsa and Tango parts seemed to be straight lifts from her routines done previously, both of which were in the last few weeks. Lazy choreography in that respect from James.

Try doing a plank for >1 minute on both arms, then one arm on both sides. Thats how it is being lifted, cos you have to use your core strength to hold yourself in position.”

Well said

I still have reservations about her being in the competition, not because she went to stage school, but because she performed in the West End and Broadway, and more importantly, is obviously very talented. But I do think, based on tonight, she should win. I don't think she will though. But I enjoyed her showdance the most.

That said, I don't really have a favourite, my favourite went out last week. I'm basing it solely on the dances I like the most.

I agree....in the training VTs that were put on the Strictly website it shows James telling Denise that she has to be more controlled when he is lifting her or he cant actually do it.

I agree Jan... and they did! Even if they don't win, at least they know the public picked up the phone to get them through to the last three.

I am really happy they are in the second half.....I thought Dani and Vincent were a lovely couple but the public have voted for the dancing in this case.

I thought Denise' show dance was all lifts and hardly any dancing.

For someone who is "a professional dancer" it was poor.

Terrible showdance. All lifts and no substance.

Pointless. Typical James
