Vernon and Tess together, with double the fake northern vowel sounds? Give us a break!

Bruce is going nowhere until they carry him off in his six pieces.

How very northernist!

Lisa Tarbuck?

It needs someone who will just present the show, not try to make jokes and not try to dance and sing themselves.

I'd almost go for Kirsty Wark or someone similar such as Mariella Frostrup.

Oops, I meant Kirsty Young not Kirsty Wark.

No decision made.

Bruce to think it over.

Would have to appeal to a wide audience, and be able to handle live TV.
Just look what happened in the past when they had presenters with no experience of live TV (Ortis anyone ??)
Most obvious is Wogan, plus he has links to the old Come Dancing.
Of the past contestants who have done live TV "events", Gabby Logan, Alex Jones, Aled Jones (maybe Daybreak is his training for the Strictly gig - would explain a few things!!!), are there any more ??

Assuming Bruce is going nowhere, look out for potential replacements in next year's lineup.
If Lenny Henry, Norton or Evans or O' Grady are in then look no further.

As long as he loses those weird shirts & ties and that awful severe haircut.

I think Norton could do it with ease. Alexander Armstrong would be really good too as the main host.

Terry Wogan- knows about dancing
Lenny Henry - hadnt thought of him, he'd be brill, and another vote for Brian Conley as well

It'll be rubbish without Bruce's bonus. That said rosemary ford and Len goodman would be good

I used to love her on the Generation Game; does anyone know what she's doing now?

Graham Norton seems the obvious choice to replace Bruce - he's quick witted and has a lot of experience at shiny floor shows after presenting the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical programmes. I think Claudia would work better with him than Tess, simply as she has a slight edge to her.

Alexander Armstrong and Claudia would be my dream team, but I would expect them to give the job to Graham Norton if Bruce leaves.

Yeah I reckon Graham Norton would be a likely candidate for the job...

Let's have someone different...I vote Claire Balding after her superb Olympic coverage this year. Or Richard Osman from Pointless, I have a strange crush on him.

Please allow us to dream - and rant - and dream again.

Do not use the L word here, because he ain't.

Why did the old fool only acknowledge the singers by name once, and once only, the week after Tess had fronted the show with Claudia? The only time?

I don't mind him for the Christmas shows, which are incredibly naff, but with any luck he'll be in a bath chair this time next year. He cannot be allowed to muck up another series.

If the BBC didn't pay Bruce's salary, that alone would double the budget for costumes.
