It's called expressing an opinion...
I totally agree! I get completely sick of being ticked off when you express strong ones, I feel I'm living on a different planet! If you dare to be controversial, the venom flying back is merciless at times......

Hilarious.. All this hooha about Louis taking his top off when the girls are in teeny tiny dresses wiggling and writhing around in front of the judges desk! Game on I'd say!

Not to mention that quite often the removal of a more discreet skirt/dress was done, quite abruptly, by their partner leaving them flashing as much thigh as possible. Kimberley's big reveal was done in shadow with provocative moves, followed by a reappearance in a burst of flame - "Hi lads - enjoy!"

Even Lisa was doing it - adding a coy "Oh no! He's ripping my clothes off" pose and (inevitable) gurn and pretending to cover up her ladybits.

Louis's topless thing reaely bothered me. Imagine if James said "Tomorrow night, Denise is going to get her top off for all the lads!"

The girls wore dresses that covered up all their bits.

He was nearly naked tho.
Some of the females have worn far less even though their boobs have been covered up.

If you`ve got it - flaunt it

Then by default - if we are talking like for like - Louis should have done his showdance in a glittery, sequinned codpiece with the odd tassle here and there and nipple tassels thrown in for good measure. All bits covered as requested.

Marvellous.

So did the males I can`t see any difference between a male showing off his torso to a female showing off a fine pair of legs and midriff. Neither are indecent

If Louis had come out in only a pair of tight fitting briefs then one would have cause for concern.

For me though - you can`t beat tails for men and a long dress for women in ballroom - very classy

And none of the male pro dancers went entirely topless,
You obviously missed Artem's Transfixatits (c. Monkseal) from week 5 then?

Quite this is the selective blindness will keep Specsavers busy in the new year...or the kind of amnesia will have half the nation diagnosed with dementia

Men haven't got any 'bits' up top though. If they had they'd wear a top in the swimming pool. Louis could have flashed his chest in any of the Latin dances, as the professional dancers do, but he chose not to.

In artistic dancing of a similar type to Louis and Flavia's show dance, many men don't wear tops.

People need to realize that men and women are not the same. They're different.

Kimberley, Dani and Denise have all shown more of their bodies throughout the series. And you could even say, more inappropriately than Louis has. In fact most of the females on Strictly, professionals and celebrities, barely wear anything at all.

And seeing as he managed to get through all those weeks without taking his top off, it's highly unlikely that it made any kind of significant difference or that he won because of it.

Personally I prefer it when they're in tails and ballroom dresses. I thought Louis looked best during his Foxtrot last week.

He was using mega distraction techniques to disguise the fact his celeb wasn't good, Louis didn't need to do that, so it was nothing other than blatent vote-grabbing techniques for me.

And I didn't agree with Artem doing it either, for the record.

No, opinion. Just because you don't agree doesn't make it moaning.

A lot of contemporary/ballet performances use shirtlessness to show off musculature, so from an artistic standpoint I don't think it's any less valid than Denise's fugly catsuit or Kimberley actually stripping in her routine (nothing in the god-awful mess that was Dani's showdance was artistically valid, obviously). Flavia's squealing about how he was going to get his moobs out the week before was tragic though, and I didn't like the routine at all.

LOL!

BIB - When I read that, I was hearing Anton's voice!

...and I'm now having visions of Anton in a glittery silver codpiece and nipple tassles!

I take it none of the "OMG, Louis was topless!!!" people saw Any Dream Will Do, which included a segment showing 10 contestants in loincloths performing a song from Joseph for ALW and Denise (plus mums), a VT which included a brief clip of a topless Lee Mead (the eventual winner), whipping off his trousers backstage (to reveal a skimpy pair of underpants) and another VT showing the aforementioned Mr Mead doing press-ups sans upper body clothing! Yes, male toplessness is a BBC staple in these kinds of shows! But as has already been said, male toplessness is regarded differently, both in society and in law.
