Kimberley's showdance let her down
I think her showdance was the least impressive of the 3 who went through to the second part, and gave Louis the momentum to win.

I do think it killed her momentum she's had going for the last few weeks but she did pull it back for the tango.
Louis was always going to win I've thought though. |

He was always the bookies favourite so it wouldn't have mattered if it had been last week when he danced that jive and Kimberley danced her charleston.
I don't think her showdance was the worst though, far from it. |

I really liked her showdance, I don't think it let her down at all.

Her showdance was totally lacking in any cohesion I felt. There didn't seem to be any thread connecting it whereas the others had something that had an identity.

Although I thought it was a bit scrappy, I liked that she gave it some "welly" as it were, but I was never going too vote for her, as I felt she was a ringer the same as Denise, so for me it made no difference whether she did a great showdance or not.

I really don't think it would have made a difference, which is unfortunate, he was always going to win no matter what he did in the final.

Her showdance was brilliant.
Louis was ALWAYS going to win this. Always. |

I thought everyone's show dances let them down in some way. None of them were a patch on Tom Chambers'. Louis was going to win anyway.

I suspect that most votes had already been decided.

He could have danced the macarana and the birdy song and a lot of people still would have voted for him, as long as he got his shirt off a few times.. |

As others have said I don't think it would have mattered what she did.
We'll never know for sure, but I suspect Louis has been dominating the voting from week one. |

I think there were two main problems with it:
1. For me personally, it reminded me a lot of Pasha's showdance with Chelsee/things he did last year: Beyonce song, K's hairstyle, the dress,K's shadow dancing, which was similar to C&P's Samba last year. 2. It looked shaky in some of the lifts, and sometimes their hands didn't seem to connect at the right times, which usually causes mistakes to be made in terms of dance moves. |

It was messy and I couldn't believe the 10s that flashed up afterwards because it was nowhere near being in the same league as VanJam's. I wish Pasha would stay away from Beyoncé! I didn't like their Viennese Waltz any better the second time round either.
Having said that, Kim TOTALLY redeemed herself with her Tango. It was so sharp and clean and held my attention from start to finish. I saw her number trending on Twitter and threw a few votes her way after that. But deep down I don't think nailing the first two dances would have made a difference to the outcome. If Louis wasn't already the overwhelming favourite going into the final, the Dirty Dancing routine ensured he was. It was always going to be much more of a crowd-pleaser than the judge's choices for Dani & Kimberley. He performed last in each round and always got the loudest cheer from the studio audience. |

I ranked her showdance last of the four and she was doing that leading with her shoulders thing again in the Tango (it didn't get picked up on which is fine, it's the final). I had hoped she could give Louis a run for his money, but to think that only three weeks ago, I kept forgetting she was even in the show, she did well to have me anticipating her performances the most pre-show.

I was disappointed with her showdance. I had such great expectation.Pasha didn't quite pull if off with Beyonce last year so I thought it would be much better this year.
I thought the dance was frenetic, frantic and a bit messy. I absolutely love Pasha, he is one of my fave professional dancers but I just don't think the showdance pulled it off. |

I actually agree with you. It was nothing unusual. It was like seeing Beyonce.

1. I thought her showdance was the best of a bad lot - Denise's was liftfest and Louis' was far too removed from ballroom & Latin for my liking and good but not 'wow'. Kimberley's was a dance fusion and although rough around the edges in parts had more energy than the other 2 put together. Plus her Tango was more impressive than either of the Charlestons. 2. Kimberley didn't give Louis the momentum to win by anything she did or didn't do. Louis has had the momentum to win since week 1, and in my mind he was never going to lose no matter what Kimberley did, which is a shame

I really don't think that's true - look at every poll this week, & Kim was leading, and then look at the comments here & on twitter after Louis's showdance; there were so many people saying they'd never thought much of Louis before that, but the showdance brought them round. That was what swung it for him. I don't think anyone could have overtaken him after that, but had a) Kim had a different judges choice dance like her AS and b) had more of a wow showdance rather than a rehashed Beyonce routine she could have taken it.
Louis basically had two showdances tonight - the DD salsa was a salsa-based showdance, so if anything helped tonight, it's that. I still maintain he had it won before he stepped onto the floor though, because the Olympics are fresh in people's minds. Any other year, I wouldn't have been so sure. |
